    I was referring to the fact that alcohol is empty calories, "empty calories" I mean that the energy supply provided, although bringing many calories to the body, is poor (or zero) in micronutrients such as vitamins, mineral salts, protein, fat, antioxidants etc etc. ..

    Since it provides usable energy but none of the nutritional elements necessary for the construction or renewal of cellular structures.
    And yes, alcohol slows down tremendously the use of fat as an energy source.
