I've used hundreds of amps, probably thousands, without any issue. I've never shattered an amp either. But if you are worried, invest in some filter needles. Those are needles used to draw up the drug, that have a filter built into the hub (plastic part) of the needle. Draw with filter needle, switch to regular needle to inject. No glass shards.

Or just learn how to open amps.
