Anyone else physically unable to train abs due to excruciating cramping?

I've tried off and on for several years to train my abs. But every session leads to me on the floor stuck in the fetal position praying to god to get me through this. A lot of times it happens after just one set. Rarely, I can get through an entire ab session without going into a full-on spasm but I am on the verge the entire time and I basically have to keep my back arched and my abs stretched or else i'll get pulled down to the floor. It usually lasts about 2-5 minutes until I can get up.

    I've tried all the remedies,
    Electrolytes
    Taurine
    Magnesium
    Stretching etc.

Anyone else have this issue? It fucking sucks.

I suffer from this as well but not quite as bad as you. When I did CrossFit I would have to skip any workout that had an excessive amount of toes to bars in it. When ever I train abs, I just have to be extremely careful and train right up to the point before my abs pull and take plenty of time in between each set. Luckily I stayed pretty lean so my abs look good but I believe you core is fairly weak because of this. I think it also contributes to my lower back issues.

Yes, happens to me quite frequently when Im on cycle. Probably due to electrolyte imbalances. Try adding sodium to your pre workout drink along with a banana for xtra potassium.

That sounds awful to be honest. I have never had that happen but I wouldnt be training them if it was causing that much pain. As cbbram said, just let diet do the work if abs are your current focus.
