    let me put it this way

    you aren't going to burn fat by eating 10 big macs a day and then exercising 2-3 hours to 'burn that off'. nope does not work like that. our bodies are either going to store or burn fat. when you eat a lot of garbage you will be storing fat plain and simple. exercising your balls off will not magically prevent the body from storing excess. again I explain this in detail in my Ebook and we have also talked about it on the podcast

    simply put we did not survive 2M years by counting calories and burning calories like what the cookie cutter people want you to think. the food companies absolutely love when they hear this crap. I even saw a beer commercial last night where they were raving about how the beer has 'this many carbs, this many calories'. it is a lie and ruse to trick you into drinking their beer and thinking it won't hurt you. the truth is alcohol actually raises estrogen and prevents the body from burning fat in the first place. so drinking beer is not gonna work sorry. so calculating how many carbs and calories you get from that beer and then thinking you can magically burn it off by exercising to make up for it is a failing strategy.

    never ever count macros. it is completely counter productive

    but let's say for the sake of argument that eating X amount of calories would burn fat because that puts us in a deficit (this isn't true but hear this example). we actually know from recent studies that if you spread those calories out throughout the day in a 12 hour window vs. 4 hour window. the person who eats in a 4 hour window would lose more weight EVEN THOUGH they both ate the same exact foods and calories. it all has to do with how our body responds to meal frequency, specifically HORMONES.

    another example. you really think that eating a cup of raw nuts is going to have the same effect as 2 slices of pizza and a diet coke? both have the same calories. we know from studies and real world experience this is NOT the case. why is that? again has to do with a lot of factors

    there are also factors like genetics, homeostasis, metabolism, gut health, hormones like i said above, and many more factors that go into weight gain or loss. calories is 1 of MANY factors. but if you just focus on calories i promise you will fail miserably at your health goals.

    bottom line is it is fun to sit here and calculate macros and calories on a stupid app and think that is your solution, however we are real living organisms. we aren't robots that can be programmed to do what we want. again the food companies WANT YOU to think this. if we could just use an app to calculate this shit then there wouldn't be a zillion different diets out there and opinions on this subject. we could all just follow what our app tells us to do and lose or gain weight however we want.

    i will give you 1 more example and anyone who thinks i am wrong i am about to butthurt you badly. there are tiny microscoptic things called bacteria. these bacterias are needed in our bodies because they help us absorb vitamins and minerals. so if you eat nothing but processsed junk you are getting literally zero beneficial bacteria in your body, while someone else eats nothing but raw (or slightly cooked) natural organic whole foods gets tons of beneficial bacteria. even if both eat the same amount of calories, the 2nd person will be much healthier than the first person because they are getting boatloads of more nutrition. now maybe the calories in/out people don't believe that there is such thing as bacteria since they can't see them, i dunno.. however, this example in itself proves how absurd counting calories is. no the poptart, cereal, pizza, pasta, diet where you 'hit your macros' does not work.

    makes sense to add some validity to what your saying I can tell you this.... I use a fitbit to track my activity level and am strict about diet tracking... I seem to lose more weight doing less cardio say 12000-15000 steps and eating 2000 calories which says im in a deficit of 500-600 than I do when i bump the cardio to 27000-32000 steps and the calories to 2500-2800 even though it says im in a 1000-1400 calorie deficit...

    along with that for whatever reason my appetite isnt as strong with less cardio which makes it easier to stay at 2000 calories...

    i always thought that was weird and some anomaly

    ^^^ the problem is you will be a solid 20-40% off with how many calories you get in and some of those machines are a solid 60% off for how much they claim you 'burn'. they do that on purpose on both ends. food companies want you to think you are eating less than you are and those machines want you to think you are burning more than you are.

    so again, even if there was validity to counting calories in/out that makes it fools gold anyway.

    besides my Ebook which is short and to the point, you can also get Dr. Jason Fung's books on this subject which will open your eyes a lot on nutrition and exercise. remember that 99% of the info you hear on this stuff is put out by the food companies and those who parrot that nonsense. afterall if you ask most people they will think that gatorade and subway are healthy for you. Jared did turn from obese to just fat by eating subway right?

    it is close to 0 calories yes. however it contains a lot of shit that you shouldn't put into your body. just read what is in it. i think it has sucralose which will still give your body a helluva reaction and put it into storage mode.

    you are better off avoiding it. stick to good quality water. if you want something sweeter, then squeeze a fresh orange. drinking fresh juice like that is better than gatorade, even though it is more calories. that is another calorie lie example lol

    I am usually 10% bf or less year round... i never do cardio. Mainly because i hate it... Diet is key to fat loss. Cardio has many health benefits, but completely unnecessary to lose fat IMO
