    Door Chin up bars

I always weigh between 180-205lbs are these ok to use. I'm moving to a new apartment next month and I afraid of it breaking the door frame or damaging the wall. I do now ant to have to have for things to be fixed in the apartment. What are the risks of it breaking the door frame or wall (if there are any) and do you think it would be safe to use in an apartment at my weight up to 210lbs. Im very concerned about this, but I want to start doing chin ups. Im looking at the ones that attach to the door jam (wall)

I always wondered if they would break a doorframe too.

I weighed 230 before usmc bootcamp and I was more concerned of breaking the pull up bar I had than the door frame. Most of them hold up very well. Really depends on the way they mount.

They work well. I used one that was held up by my body weight. I was 240 lbs at the time.
Once you take your body weight off of it the bar falls into your hands. It took me a while
before I trusted it fully but it never let me down (no pun intended).

I thought about getting one of these as well, I always see them at the big box stores..If it works I will give it a shot, one less reason to drive across town to the gym in a foot of snow. I mean, damn, I bought a bowflex and told myself I would never do that. Old age must be getting to me. But I do love going to the gym though. Training at home just isnt the same..SJ

You should be fine. I would just make sure you dont jump to grab onto the bars or swing while doing them.

I have the iron gym pull up bar and have had it for Bout 2.5 years. It's held up well and hasn't done any nori blue damage. Just some slight circular indentations, but they are not really that noticeable. Though I've had it in the same spot for all that time. I weigh on avg between 190-195.
