    Hey Steve

Hi Steve I really enjoyed your podcast on fasting.I have decided to try intermittent fasting and it is just like you said.My body wants fuel every 3 hours I have been doing it for 5 days and knocking back the water. So far I have only made it past the 15 hour mark twice.Heres the the really cool part.I have suffered from bloating for a long time and nothing has worked and since I started this my bloating has gotten a lot better.

Nice man. Fasting is the best thing for inflammation. And the best part is all the other benefits you are getting. Try a 24 hour fast next. Dinner to dinner.

You should keep pushing to the 16 hour mark. 16 hour water fast, 8 hour refeed. In the 8 hours make sure you don't overeat, easy to eat too much. Keep your ratios 50protein/40fat/10carbs

16/8 seems to be the sweet spot for me as far as my daily fasting. I feel like I am getting a lot of the benefits of fasting without getting to the point where I get overly hungry and irritable so it is pretty easy for me to stick to.

I have done 20/4 for about a month on a couple occasions but it does become challenging for me after a couple weeks.

I plan on getting back to doing a 24 hour fast once a week after the new year.

I'm gonna do a week fast after new years and then keep it going if i feel good. easiest prolong fasts are Monday -Friday. weekends are tough cause of football we develop habits like eating certain times or foods for certain events. so if you are having trouble fasting you simply have to separate habits from when you fast. example I like to snack during football so i do my fasting away from football days.

also keep in mind how many times you go to the fridge and open it during a fast. you will notice a lot of times. it has become a habit to do that. these habits are hard to break. what I do when i get the urge to eat on a fast is simply go for a short walk, when i get back i don't want to eat. i was never really hungry, just that i've developed those unnatural habits like opening up a fridge. our ancestors did not have fridges. maybe they buried excess food or hung it up high to keep it away from predators. but electricity wasn't invented until the late 1800's and the first fridges didn't come around until a few decades before that lol. many rural people in the 1900's only had ice boxes to conserve their foods. i actually keep my fridge completely empty while fasting for this reason. hard to do obviously for most people
