Honestly, that sounds like normal muscle pain in the hips from deep squats.
My initial thought precisely. If you haven't been doing leg presses for a while and happened to go super deep it might be just muscle soreness.
And no you don't need to limit the range of motion at all unless your lower back starts coming off the padding.
So unless that's happening keep doing what you are doing. None of that partial shit.
Id guess you either strained your hip flexor or its just muscle tightness.
Id foam roll the area if you can and stretch a ton.
You're just sore.... Ease into it
Has always been an issue with me, is it sore or is it "real pain"
I hate backing off of any goal I have, but I now know to back off and be cognizant of the exercise next time.
