Partial tear or fully torn?

An urgent care facility isn’t going to be able to do or know shit about athletes or kinesiology. Find yourself a sports medicine doctor

I went see an orthopedic yesterday.

Gonna have to take some time off. In the meantime get yourself a sling, rest it, and ice it aggressively, 10mins on 20mins off, all day and everyday until you get the MRI. Hopefully it’s just a superficial tear

Yeah that’s what I’ve been doing. No upper body stuff. And been icing and resting it.

Probably going to do legs twice a week and some cardio. Can’t do abs.. as of now. When I do try I slightly contact my pec and I don’t want that.

keep us updated on recovery

So it’s been 3 days. Still no swelling or bruising.
I do have some slight inflammation on the pec I messed up but it’s more of in the cleavage part of my chest. Kinda weird. It’s doesn’t hurt or anything like that. The orthopedic pushed on it and that’s what he thinks just some inflammation from the partial tear?

Going to get an MRI Tuesday. That’ll tell me more of what’s going on.

I got to do legs today at power house gym. It was nice. I got to use a yoke bar. Hacksquat machine and some other machines I don’t have at my gym.

inflammation is the body throwing everything it has at the injury. by slowing down the inflammation you actually will delay recovery assuming it is a minor tear. keep that in mind.

too many doctors want to throw anti inflammatories at an injury to make the patient 'feel better'. but that isn't how you heal and recover

Thank you for telling me that. The only thing I’ve been doing for it is rest and ice. I haven’t takin any OTC pain meds or anything.

i wouldn't be icing it very much. you are slowing down blood flow doing that. you can ice it a little but you need to be using heat more

Alright I have a heating pad. I’ll start doing that throughout the day and maybe just ice it once or twice.

I’m trying to have gyno surgery during thanksgiving, I don’t need to have surgery on my peck.. let’s hope not!!

I want porn star nipples! Not these pepperonis

So just went and got my MRI done today.

My uncle was out of town so the guy who did the MRI told me this:
“Man.. I don’t see anything wrong with you with these images. You might have a slight strain with the pec major up by the armpit area but that’s it” he said my uncle will call me next week to tell me what he thinks.

I am actually feeling a lot better this week as well. My range of motion is a lot better. No bruising or swelling.
-last week I couldn’t even do a push up to get myself off the bench with my peck giving out.
-now I’m able to at least push myself off the bench without my peck giving out.

get another opinion from a doctor who specializes in sports injuries.

he is looking at the MRI and diagnosing you based on a normal american couch potato and not as an athlete who is benching 300 pounds twice a week and putting a tremendous amount of pressure

Well my uncle did see me last week and thought it could possibly be a slight tear if anything since I felt something pop.

So he’s diagnosing me based on what he’s seen from my physically and then he’s going to look at the mri.

He’s supposedly treated many of athletes?

If I were to go to another ortho that specializes in sports injury.. would I be able to take the scans with me to show the other doctor or would I have to get another one done?

So, to be clear, you're recovering.

Take them with you but sounds like you will be okay

Quick update!

I’m feeling better. My left peck and shoulder just feel stiff. I’m able to do a push up without any pain. And I can flex both pecks as well.

I have been trying to do some research on rehab exercises for my chest. I’ve found a couple videos and articles. Is there anything specific you guys would recommend?

bro have you tried hot yoga and heavy stretches???

hot yoga and an inversion table are 2 requirements for every weight lifter.

weight training causes COMPRESSION, destroy mobility and flexibility. those 2 things above cause DE-COMRPESSION and improve mobility and flexibility.
