I like taking PerformaStrips which is vitamin b12 sublingual strips, beta-alanine, maybe 2-3g of creatine mono, Gear. Keep it simple enough just to keep lactic acid down and energy up. Postworkout Ultima does me well.
Back when I was training regularly i took some kind of pre- workout shake to get me running and then BCAA/Electrolyte/salt mixture during workout to prevent dehydration (I sweat like INSANE!!) and that combo did the job for me..
