    Sarms meal prep

    Hey bros,

I'll be starting my first cycle of sarms (first cycle of anything) late this upcoming week. I picked up the sarms triple stack (ostarine, gw, s4) and all my pct gear and will be running 8 weeks on with a 4 week pcy. However, I have a question on diet.

Can I go keto (at a 4-500 calorie deficit) and lose weight while still gaining muscle? Or should I stay at maintenance with carbs to optimize lean mass gain?

Note: the main goal of this cycle is a recomp.

    Currently eating per day:
    - 6 Oz chicken, 4 Oz white rice, and veg 3x a day
    - 2 protein shakes
    - Some nuts, banana, and avocado as snacks

    My stats:
    - 195 lbs
    - 6 feet tall
    - roughly 25% bf (prolly closer to 22%)

Keto diets are not optimal for athletes. They are great for inactive obese people but they are not optimal for building muscle. Carbohydrates are what keep the muscles full and the metabolism firing on all cylinders. Glucose is the primary energy substrate used to fuel hard muscle contractions. It just makes sense to base your diet around carbohydrates.

To loose body fat you will need to restrict carbohydrates some what but removing them completely is unnecessary. Carb cycling is going to be your best option for recomping. You get get best of everything that way. The high carb days are very anabolic where as the low carb days are fat loss focused.

In this article I explain how to set up a carb cycling diet for fat loss and include a full sample meal plan: http://www.evolutionary.org/cycling-carbohydrates

Very good read. It'll take some time balancing the big 3 but rice and chicken should make it easier.

    Thanks, muskate

everyone is different.. some guys swear by keto, some do not.

i can tell you that if you are an athlete as musky said you will have problems without the fuel from carbs.. carbs are NOT the enemy that people think they are.. you can actually put yourself into a caloric deficit very easily just from exercising 1 hour per day since you will burn those 500 calories during that workout.

also keep in mind a large steak alone, not counting steak sauce and whatever else you eat with it, is over 1000 calories. yes it is 0 carbs, i get it. but just cause you are keto doesn't mean you aren't getting in a lot of calories from meat. that is a big misconception that people think that meat doesn't have calories.

Definitely either do maintenance, or carb cycling. Ketogenic diet has its place in the world, but it is very specific, and extremely hard to follow. You would be amazed when you will realize that carbs are found almost in all foods. Diet should be very balanced, and completely excluding something is never a good idea. It is best to do carb cycling - this way you will be eating everything, and yet achieve good results.

Thanks for the input guys. I'll probably stick to maintenance as this'll be my first cycle of anything, ever. That'll give me a good baseline to see how my body reacts to the sarms triple stack without second guessing diet or anything else.

    Thanks, bros!

Good idea. I know personally I feel like shit on low carb or keto diets. I would hate for you to be running your first cycle and feel like shit or have no energy to train. You want to be feeling great.
