K, why exactly do I need that? And once I am in ketosis, is that when I refeed? Or what do I do? Is it just to know when I'm in ketosis?

You'll need to know when you're in ketosis. Once you time the delay of getting into a ketogenic state, a proper assessment of time in ketosis can be measured. Generally, 3-5 days, depending on the timing of the last refeed.
