What do you guys think is the optimal range for body fat %? What would be the range anyone wanting to live a healthy lifestyle should focus on being in? I am currently 15% body fat and think I will continue to drop some more but what should I aim for realistically ?

if you are a 40 year old man 15% body fat is fantastic in the USA

you would be hard pressed to find anyone who was that lean these days unless they were crackheads, just go to a ball game or a sports bar and look at the physiques of a normal american man that age. you won't find many who are even under 20%!

BUT if you want to look good, have a lean stomach and have some abs showing you need to get closer to 10%. it boils down to your goals

8-12% body fat is considered optimal body fat percentage for a man.
18-25% body fat is considered optimal body fat percentage for a female

I just downloaded a body tracker app and it shows
Essential Fat 2-5%
Athlete - 6-13%
Fitness - 14-17%
Acceptable - 18-25%
Obese - 25%+

Myself - I prefer to sit in the 10-12% area as I'm uncomfortable any higher.
