Dark web is an unregulated area of the internet. It takes a special browser to use since it mixes up your info. That way you are much harder to track.it was originally created by the US gov to be a safer place for people who are in hiding (abuse spouces, etc) to have some freedom. It is a place where people can set up whatever type of website they want. One of the most prominent was silk road. Basically the Craigslist of selling anything. It got shut down years ago though.
I wouldn't buy off the dark web because it is monitored, and there are plenty of hackers looking for people's info to sell. Better to go with a reputable source.
All in all, the dark web is rather simple if you do not go looking for things you shouldnt. If you do look, you can find stuff, but there are not nearly as many sites that sell children as people think. (Quick YouTube search of dark web shows every YouTuber ever finding a red room and watching people get killed) not as many of those as people want to believe.
It's a very slow browser since your info travels through several IP addresses at a time. But, go Google dark wiki and you can see the Wikipedia page that's a source finder on the dark web. It'll give you an idea of what websites are available.
