It is derived from the racetam family of drugs and shares similar mechanisms of action,[2][3] but is, according to studies, 1000 times more potent than the prototypical racetam drug, piracetam.[4] Animal studies have shown noopept to be neuroprotective and enhance memory in various tests.[5][6][7][8][9] Since it is a peptide-derived compound, noopept is degraded by enzymes in the GI tract and liver. Its oral bioavailability has been shown to be much lower than other routes of administration, with serum concentrations reaching 10% of IV levels per-orally.[10][not in citation given (See discussion.)] It does show good blood–brain barrier penetration[11] in rats (although a previous study concluded that "GVS-111 itself was not found in rat brain 1 h after 5 mg/kg i.p. administration up to limit of detection" and that administration of Noopept only increases the concentration of endogenous nootropic cyclo-L-prolylglycine[3]), and human studies have shown promising results, with potential application in the treatment of Alzheimer's disease.[12] It is also an "immunocorrector" in mice.[13]

It has been found to stimulate the expression of NGF and BDNF in rat hippocampus.[8] Expression of the studied neurotropic factors in the cerebral cortex was below the control after single administration of Noopept, while chronic administration caused a slight increase in BDNF expression. In the hippocampus, expression of mRNA for both neurotrophins increased after acute administration of Noopept. Chronic treatment with Noopept was not followed by the development of tolerance, but even potentiated the neurotrophic effect.[8]

In Russia, Noopept is considered a nootropic drug with neuroprotective properties. It is reported to improve learning ability and memory (including the initial processing of information, consolidation, and retrieval).[medical citation needed] It is also used to prevent the development of amnesia induced by electroshock.[14][unreliable medical source?][15][unreliable medical source?]

In animal studies, Noopept helped to restore memory and other cognitive functions disturbed as a result of ischemia as well as damage due to hypoxia (a condition in which the body or region of the body is deprived of adequate oxygen supply).[16] The therapeutic effect of the drug in patients with organic disorders of the central nervous system appeared within 5-7 days of treatment. Also reported was the reduction or disappearance of anxiety, irritability, emotional lability and sleep disorders.[14][unreliable medical source?][15][unreliable medical source?]

It has also been observed to reverse and prevent learned helplessness neurosis in rats after long term (21 day) treatment.[17]

Anyone ever had experience with these brain "enhancers"? Like the one above or Provigil?

I've taken Piracetam and Aniracetam before.
Long story short.. Like 4 years ago, an ex-gf of mine gave me some of her adderall and it helped me stay on task at a previous job I had that required lots of busy work (big headache of a job).
After recognizing the health risks of adderall, I ceased the use of it immediately and performed research on nootropics (brain/cognitive enhancing supplements) to perhaps help in the same way.

First I ordered Piracetam and it didn't seem to do shit for me.
Then I came across the stronger, Aniracetam. This stuff is legit.

Safety My research made me feel safe that these substances wouldn't harm me if I took them for a prolonged amount of time. I read about people that took it for narcolepsy for like 20+ years and had no crazy effects or anything.

Effects My ability to speak seemed to be improved when I took it. It almost seems to make you talk faster. I know that might sound weird, but whatever I guess. I would say that it has a half ass stimulant effect too (energy boost). Slight boost in memory recall. I honestly think that it has a positive effect on one's reflexes too. Like reaction time.

I ordered it in powdered form, then ordered gelatin capsules and filled them all with a capsule filler. It wasn't that expensive.

Want to know something crazy though? This will trip you out. Creatine Monohydrate is a nootropic.
I've fucked around with Joe Rogan's Onnit "Alpha Brain", also mushroom extracts, racetam powders, adderall... and honestly I feel like I have the clearest mind/best memory when I take fish oil and creatine on a daily basis!
Try it yourself. take like 3-6 G of fish oil and 5-10 G of creatine and I bet you feel like you can recall stuff better within 2 friggin weeks.

Oh and google "nootropic creatine", to read up on some reinforcement on what I am discussing.

I love creatine though.. I feel it has legit athletic assistance and of course the reasons above as well :P

Sometimes I think about adding back aniracetam but I'm 50/50 on it. I already take Niacin, Fish Oil, and Creatine, (in addition to the very recent addition of test E lol).. sometimes I like to be minimalistic with supplements. I feel like I narrowed down what gives me the most bang for my buck.

Anyways I forgot to add.. if you take any "racetam" powders, take choline pills too. You might get headaches if not. I did!

Oh yeah ... (sorry this is a long post)..

I used to smoke weed like every day for yeaarrrrrs. I am pro-marijuana legalization. I feel like it is safe and has SOME benefits. It helps with creativity, appetite, stress, etc..
However despite being pro-weed.. I personally made a decision to stop smoking it. The reasoning was because weed (as some of course already know) doesn't exactly help with memory or energy lol.
It occurred to me that it was contradictory to yearn for the effects of stimulants and cognitive-enhancers, yet be a daily pot-smoker.
Plus it saves me like at least 120 bucks a month not smoking so that is good too.

SUMMARY
-Aniracetam appears to be safe, and it WORKS. Take with choline if you want to try.
-Creatine and Fish Oils can give you a nootropic effect!.. not stimulant related which is good :)
-To save money and help with brain function, cut back or stop weed if you are a user. Nothing is wrong with weed, but it CAN interfere with memory and energy. Everyone is different.

Awesome I would love to try these out just haven't got around to it. Thanks for droping the info on these.

what.webp

Been thinking about trying noopept for a while... I just haven't seen enough legitimate studies done on it to convince me of no neg sides with prolonged use.

Yeah I have modafinil. Venom carries that too but personally I've come to the conclusion that it does almost nothing for me. Not to say that the drug does not work but it has no such effect like Adderall does for me at least. Adderall is still king in my eyes.
