Recomp definition

Hey Guys -

Sorry to spam the inbox today, I usually just read and learn, but could someone explain “recomp” to me?

I’m not sure I’m following - I believe from what I’ve read, recomp is a desirable effect, but what exactly is it and how does it work - what causes it and how does one make this happen?

Recomp is fancy term for saying that you are trying to gain weight by adding muscle while maintaining or even slightly loosing body fat on a percentage basis. It's essentially the goal of what most people want when they are trying to get bigger. Doesn't always work out as planned because often that muscle comes with a big increase in body fat.
 
The most dramatic description of a recomp I can think of is umm think of a 25 year old male, tall, no muscle no fat... Just stick and bones... And then they smash 100ed tren ace... Over several weeks, that 25 yo boy will look like a man. That's a recomp. An example of one.

Not even close. That's just gaining.

As above - losing fat and adding muscle at the same time.
 
recomping is gaining muscle and losing fat at the same time

some guys will never be able to do it no matter how hard they try. some need PED's to get it done, and some are genetically gifted they can do it just by looking at a weight. we all remember back in high school or college the guys who never showed up to weight training session for football who stayed jacked anyway, while some of us had to be in there daily or else.

bodybuilding is a challenge if you aren't in that top 1%. it will take us a lifetime to achieve the body we want

Its a complete transformation. That's just my experience anyway.
Fat has never been in my vocabulary... Before steroids I was 6% bodyfat, zero muscle, 6'5".
Eating has always been a chore for me.
 
It is difficult which is why you see most guys bulk and then cut. To add muscle while reducing body fat is the ultimate goal and takes really being in tuned with your body.

In basic terms as stated above it's a complete transformation of not only ones body but also the mind and goals long term, it's a marathon not a sprint, it takes way more dedication to cut diet and recomp than it does to bulk atleast for me it does but thats what Iove about it.
