@stevesmi thanks man. Doing a ton of research on setting up a 1st cycle. Have been thinking var but a buddy of mine was talking about eq and now after researching I'm going down a rabbits hole with the eq. I think with var it aligns with my goals, would need a cycle support for sure (n2guard). Eq seems more nerve racking with E2 control and not crashing it Thoughts?
Var is a good choice.

cardio first thing locked in the base and you followed it with a strong afternoon leg session. swings and single dumbbell squats got the whole lower body firing before stacking weight on the press. calves, side bends, and extensions rounded out the detail work, and ham curls plus a second round of swings finished the session right. :D
volume and variety hit every angle so recovery will be key, but the structure shows you’re covering strength and conditioning together. keep tracking how you feel on these double days so you can adjust load if needed. @Warthog603

Feeling good, am cardio yesterday because I was up and couldn't fall back asleep. Once I sleep 7-8 hours my body tells me to get up. Next few days in going to some intermittent fasting with afternoon sessions only to change things up a bit. I have been enjoying that 3-4 days a week. Laser focused @LevButlerov following my plan and hitting the small goals on the way

Another note to add with my routine, m-w-f i am hitting my core when i get home from gym, Typically a mix of 5x 20 crunches, a few sets of 30-45 second planks, laying leg raises, an i love a few sets of Russian twists with a weighted ball. sometimes ill even do this before work just to get a quick fix in. Not sure if i had asked yet @LevButlerov but do you think a switch from tirz to reta would be something worth looking into? i have started to taper tirz back down to 3mg weekly to get into a position to possibly switch maybe starting the reta @ 1mg and see how my body likes it. I dont feel i need as high a dose of tirz currently with my diet so maybe trying reta at a low dose may be my ticket?

maybe starting the reta @ 1mg and see how my body likes it.
The starting doses I read were 1mg to 2.5mg and I went with 2mg and really think it would have been fine at 1mg for me, so I don't think 1mg is a low dose. But also would definitely recommend trying EOD shots first with reta, I'm going to switch to them tomorrow but the reta wiped me out for a couple of days first time doing 2mg.

I've had good luck with tirz. I prefer a low dose with my upcoming cycle and I've heard good things about reta with the 3rd agonist at a mild dose

Okay awesome man, I'll be keeping an eye on your log and I'm really interested in how you go with this. @SaintSoup the guy from Life Forge who is sponsoring my log and gave me the retatrutide is a massive fan of tirzepatide also and I was originally going to go for that. There's a bit of discussion between Lev & him early in my log about the two.

I'm currently experimenting with what I can eat now, it's really powerful stuff! Kinda reminds me of this shit I tried in 2004 to quit smoking called Zyban, it was suppost to dull the "habit center" so you'd just forget to smoke, which it totally did, but I also forgot how to tie my shoes and a few other concerning things so I didn't continue.

I would highly recommend the three podcast episodes on retatrutide to listen to while you're making your decision, I listened to all of the reta and tirzepatide episodes a couple of times each over a week or so while I was deciding what I wanted to do.

The "reta 101" episode:

Episode that goes over benefits and explains the studies into reta and their results

And my favourite reta episode where they present the info from a body-building standpoint. A lot of information on the drug is tailored to obesity and weight loss and there's not a lot of info like this I've come across elsewhere:

Core work is dialed in, you’re hitting it often and mixing movements so it stays balanced. Since you’ve already pulled Tirz down and food is keeping things steady, starting Reta low at 1mg is a good way to test the waters. If it holds appetite and doesn’t mess with sides, you can just stay there instead of pushing higher.

Bench numbers looked good climbing into the 80s, and the incline dumbbells gave you steady volume after. Lateral raises with that top set at 25s is solid, shoulders are getting thicker. If the pump felt flat, adding a little preworkout carb should help without messing up your fast too much. @Warthog603

Rest day. Got my bloods drawn this morning. We shall see where i am at

Nice work bro that's a very reasonable calorie intake, you're gonna loose that gut so quickly. I did about the same yesterday and I can feel myself shrinking already. Sorry I haven't replied to your message from the other day yet, I'm going to though. That app looks pretty bad bro, if there's an advert on it's main screen that means it's harvesting all your shit, possibly even started texting your girl behind your back. There's an app I haven't analysed myself but uses open data and no ads called Super Simple Macro Tracker you should try. I switched to my gyms commercial app but it was too complicated and now use the Samsung app for my tracker watch that is nice and easy. That's probably also free too but it does tons of other shit too and probably overkill.

I wanted to tell you about my new shake technique I've figured out since starting reta. I was never into protein powder and it's new to me but this sits well on reta. I only ate an apple yesterday and the day before besides these.

I put water to cover the blades in the blender first, then add 4 scoops of whey powder for about 46g protein, then a scoop of creitine, then crack four eggs into it and go. Can't taste the eggs at all and now it's not such a bit deal I'm not eating coz I got 12 eggs in anyway.

Most free apps have ads no? And what whey are you using that only has 46g protein in 4 scoops????

Most free apps have ads no?

Yeah indeed, the Super Simple one is the only one I could find without. it's a massive grey market industry for data harvesting and wholesale. People don't atcually click on the adverts and buy shit but it's a good cover.

If you can help me with this I'm all ears. This is the back of mine:

It's a bit deceptive in that one serving is atcually two scoops but they all seem like that. I found one with 27g but it was almost double the price for only a few more grams of protein. I'm less worried about it now that I got a blender though, it mixes/dissolves 100% in the blender.

Good it has BCAA's, I think 4 scoops would bring you closer to 60g's if im not mistaken. How much was that bag? I've been using optimum nutrition gold standard for a long time (when training over the years).

The bag was $30 USD and is 1kg or 2.2lb and I am considering this one next which is 4lb and $60 USD:

https://www.sportsfuel.co.nz/products/pvl-gold-series-whey-gold-protein-powder

And the 27g one I mentioned which is a 5lb tub but is more like $120 USD:

https://www.sportsfuel.co.nz/products/pvl-isogold-premium-isolate-protein-5lb

I can't see the atcual back of the packet but they also all say "per serving" not "per scoop" so likely the same scam as my current supermarket one.

That's useful info thanks bro, I think I've found it at the same place:

https://www.sportsfuel.co.nz/products/optimum-gold-standard-100-whey-protein

For the two pound tub I think it's still double the price of the supermarket one but now I have to figure out the total protien numbers and stuff, there might be twice as much of that also which would be exactly what I'm looking for. I want 20ish g per scoop ideally.

Yeah in New Zealand (Wellington) how about you? I found a place with the optimum gold you use for way cheaper and I'm gonna go with that. Cheers bro

100mg test cyp every 3 days. I was going to ramp up some and add some var but I think I underestimated how my body was going to do with the test may just run var now for 6 weeks and just go to a 50-100mg a week true trt and recheck bloods. I feel great been getting stronger, my bp has been 124/76 ish consistantly sometimes lower.

I would have thought my e2 would have been higher. I took .25mg arimidex once a couple weeks ago because I thought I was getting bitchy that's it. Unless the test was a misread or I'm a crazy good responder

One hell of a pump today. I chowed 1/4 cup of dried cranberries before I left work. My veins are starting to show with a pump. I haven't seen those in 10 years
Rows and pulldowns hit hard and the curls after had your arms blowing up, that’s why the veins started popping. Crazy how just a small carb hit like cranberries before training can bring vascularity right back. Pump like that after a long time away shows your body is responding well, keep that consistency and it’ll only get sharper. :D and you look super good in pics!

Pharmaqo from @domestic-supply.com Greg looks legit AF clean :D

Bloods are gtg, e2? tested?

Thanks for the good words man. E2 was at 17, pretty low. I did take .25mg arimidex a few days back because I thought I was getting some emotional weird feelings but I think it's just the tigerblood in my veins lol. I think I'm just a good overall responder to a mild dose of test. Var and n2guard should be here tomorrow so I can finish out this small blast well. I really enjoyed that carb trick and plus cranberries are amazing @LevButlerov

E2 low in relation to my total t*. Will retest in 4 weeks

That's awesome man!! Is the season for a particular animal or just time of year thing for conservation reasons? In NZ we're lucky we can hunt on public land and there's dear and pigs, I'm not sure about in the USA but in Australia you can't do that in many places and lots of hunters have private blocks.

@2Thick This was my standard training regimen back in my early 20's, heavier but im getting there at a decent pace. But I was never on a strict diet like this. When I was 22-25 I was eating in surplus. Making up for lost years💯

Good leg day, 410lbs for 6 on press after the RDLs is solid and the ham curls at 120lbs show your hams are strong too. Meals hit plenty of protein with chicken, eggs, whey, and cottage cheese so recovery is covered. No weight loss isn’t a problem if you’re feeling good, could just be water while body comp is still improving.

I started Reta at 1mg yesterday in replace of 2.5mg weekly tirz. and today it feels like when i 1st started tirz. so i assume it is doing its thing. Var will be here today and plan to run 20mg a day this week and up to 40mg a week if tolerable next week. N2guard daily for 2 bottles worth (past cycle) 400mg test cyp split M/T no more every 3 days and i'm going to push myself. After 6 weeks i plan to run 100-140mg test c a week until after the holidays and want to check my bloods on a true trt dose as i seem to be a very good responder with test. may also add some GW post cycle to add some endurance and push the cardio even more.

i must say the cottage cheese is really hard to get down. @HarleyGuy i know you eat it by the tub, having a hard time with the texture. wondering if blending it and adding a bunch of frozen berries and a tablespoon of honey would help

The pressed cottage cheese is my favourite, it's literally almost nothing but protein but it's dry as all hell. The 2% cottage cheese I can eat 1kg of it no problem. With the pressed cottage cheese or even any cottage cheese you can pour in some protein drink to give it flavor and dilute the texture a bit (see pic - those are banana flavour). And if you want the texture more crunchy I sometimes put frozen blueberries in with it or frozen bananas and that gives it more of a denser need to chew type texture. If you put honey in that's a great idea just be sure and use a Manuka honey with a GMO of at least 500+, not that cheap honey that might as well be corn syrup LOL.

Hope that helped bro. If it didn't help tag me again because I've got tons of options for you. It's a common thing I get when I tell someone to eat 500g of cottage cheese (ie: the entire tub you buy at the store).

New guy here so ill give it a shot. 38yo feeling young again. Lifted in my early 20's in the USAF. Got married and had kids and had a passion for drinking out of aluminum cans for years. Miss when my belly didn't go over my belt. So 3 months ago I had a thought while looking down at the scale at the doc's and seeing 264lbs with my boots off. I have been off and on ssri's for years and at this time I was on lexapro, which is known for weight gain=low t. On my own I got my total t checked and was at 192 and my other bloods were sub par....high liver enzymes, high ldl etc. So I self prescribed 200mg test c a week along with 2.5mg tirz a week.
3 months later I'm sitting at 244lbs 5'11" and gaining strength every week with an end goal of 215lbs because any smaller i look weird

Current meds:
Buspirone 5mg daily
Tirz 5mg once a week
Test C 200mg week split
Arimidex 1mg on hand

Sups: (every day)
Triple Magnesium blend 400mg
Vitamin d 5000iu
K2 100mcg
B12 500mcg
Zinc 50mg
Daily multivitamin
Metamucil 1 tablespoon

Diet has some change but always same guidelines
 Breakfast
2 small 21gr whole wheat slices
2 fried eggs
1/2 avacado
1 small banana

Lunch
1/2 chicken breast
1cup broccoli
1 cup brown rice

Snack
25g whey shake 1 scoop
1/2 cup grapes

Dinner
1/2 pound ground turkey
1 cup mixed veggies

tough to get the food down but im trying to maintain existing muscle while on tirz. Will add workouts once this gets going. Looking forward to getting jacked Once i lose some more abdominal fat!!!
Attaching photos of bloods
Great intro and great log here... I'll be following.

I quit drinking totally in March when my liver enzymes were high with my spring bloodwork. My intent is to not drink, no real cravings for it either. Once an addict always an addict. I just replaced it with things I used to do hunting, fishing and now back in the gym and researching different tactics. I feel great and plan to hit my goal. Thanks @vanlife_gymbum

@HarleyGuy I'm going to give the frozen fruit a go, may even blend it and chug it down. Love reading your log and learning about your history along with the podcast. it's almost scary relatable. I have had a lot of demons in my past and always masked it with shit decisions, never fixes it always compounds it. Everyone has a break point. I source my honey from my back yard so that should work

That was one hell of a cycle

I would have thought my e2 would have been higher. I took .25mg arimidex once a couple weeks ago because I thought I was getting bitchy that's it. Unless the test was a misread or I'm a crazy good responder
Lowering your e2 too far will make you even bitchier trust me LOL. Your bloods for e2 look great. That's quite the T level for 300mg/week LOL. Mr Hyper-responder!:p

My wife even says i'm crazy. Once i get something stuck in my head i am literally 1000% on it, i feed off of it, research and study the hell out of it. Night and day i become basically obsessed at a level that others are like wtf

Ya bro same here. One day I'm into math and cosmology (it's what I got my degree in) and the next day I'm ordering parts separately over time because I'm obsessed with building a new pistol and watching CQB tactic videos. Then the wife will come down and I'll be reading medical journals on receptor agonists.

I just read through your log. Your food is on point bro and the workouts show you mean business. If you wanna try 2MAD and are cutting keep the protein really high and the carbs low like you've been doing. You can even cut some fat out and add more protein but that's just my mentality. You seem to have the base I had when I lost 70lbs except I went keto crazy full bore and ended up skinny fat and had to rebuild from there. You're doing it perfectly and the progress is showing!

I'm about to post my before and after pics on my log and yes it was one hell of a cycle for sure, my biggest blast ever and last one of it's kind LOL.

Where are you at with your PED's at the moment? Just the VAR for now? I mighta missed where you said it but I know you were toying with running EQ as well.

originally i was running 200mg test as a high trt. went to 300mg wk 6 weeks ago and for the next 6 weeks i am going to run 400 test c split with 40mg var daily split to try it. Yesterday i switched to reta so started back down to 1mg to check for any sides. after this i am going to bring it back down to a more normal trt(100-140mg wk) dose and probably add some GW. Cut more recomp more and plan for something exciting for the new year. would love to get back to 495lb deadlifts and 295 bench. my goal is to be a solid 215-220lbs by the time i'm 40 and be stronger than my 20's. Still researching EQ, DHB and mast currently but that's down the road

Rest day so here is the diet to keep me honest
Breakfast
2scoop gold standard whey
1 banana

Lunch
3/4 chicken breast
1 cup mixed veggies
Dinner

.8lb NY strip
1 cup broccoli
1 cup sweet potatos

Snack
Smoothie 1/2 cup cottage cheese, 1 cup frozen tropical blend fruit, 1/4 cup 2% milk, 1/4 cup blueberries, 1/2 bananasmoothie was great, will add more cottage cheese with some honey and lower the fruit amount simply due to volume. Also may grab some unflavored protein powder to add

@Warthog603

That sounds like a good plan bro. 400 TestC isn't overzealous I like it. You'll like the Var too and your b.i.d. split dosing 20mg am and pm is great. How long were looking at running the 400?

Also nice to see someone call a TRT dose for what a TRT dose actually is! (140mg is right in the sweet spot). Keep that protein high and stick to the TestC and Var for a while before you start throwing in the kitchen sink. You'll be at 215lbs easy with reta and high protein low carbs with volume and workouts you have going on. If you wanna take it next level I'd prioritize your macros as Protein then Fat then Carbs. 250 protein, 70 fat, 50 carbs or less. That's just me though so don't bank on what works for me working perfectly for you but that's what I would do.

Thanks man. Probably going to do the 400 for the 6wk var run, maybe add a week or 2 of the test 400 only, I feel like another week or 2 right at the end of cycle would set me up well for trt. So that would be a total
Wk 1-6 300 test c
Wk 6-12 400 test c 40mg var daily
Wk12-14 400 test c (see how I'm feeling)
Continue trt 140mg week

i must say the cottage cheese is really hard to get down. @HarleyGuy i know you eat it by the tub, having a hard time with the texture. wondering if blending it and adding a bunch of frozen berries and a tablespoon of honey would help
blending it works, turns it into more of a thick shake and the berries plus honey mask the texture. You’ll still get the protein load but it’ll go down way easier. Even mixing with a scoop of whey can make it smoother if you want to bump the protein higher. :D

Nice update. I like how you burnout the smaller muscles used for the main muscle group you start with.
Macros are right on point too, protein to fat 2:1 with carbs only sneaking in because that's what they do.

Keep it up brother - EVO motivation, we got your back!

One hell of a pump today. I chowed 1/4 cup of dried cranberries before I left work. My veins are starting to show with a pump. I haven't seen those in 10 years

You still put in solid work with that much volume after 50 mins incline walking early, so feeling flat on bench makes sense. Hitting 65s for those reps is still good pressing even on a tired day, and the tricep work after that shows you pushed through. Shoulders got a nice mix too with the raises and flys. Listen to your body and take that rest, recovery is where you’ll actually grow from all this.
I would like your protein to go up a bit :D @Warthog603

Will work getting more protein in, may just up the chicken intake and get some more cottage cheese in

I'm glad you agree, definitely crank the protein you won't regret it.
