Pet Log Delta's Double Cruciate Ligament Rehab Log - Dog

@Doctakay good update on this. Hopefully she is feeling a little better, but seems like she's still scared to do some things.
Mobility Check Sunday 28/12025

We've been out and about today. She walked plenty of places like from.the car to the venues and didn't seem to fatigue.

She had plenty of horizontal drive when she wants to go say hello to other dogs, or walk into gardens to sniff rabbit scratchings. Just no vertical drive to push herself upward or hop like she used to.

No problems hopping down stairs, or stepping up small steps now. We ran out of BPC yesterday but I think there will be something nice in the mailbox tomorrow.

She takes to the rosehip vital without too much of a drama if she's hungry or realises there's no other option for her to be fussy about. 😅

Once we got back home we both took the advantage of our rest day in the loungeroom having a kip on the floor on her dog bed.

Thanks for this update. I think it's going to be a day-to-day and week-by-week thing. But hopefully a few months from now, we'll look back and be in amazement at what kind of changes we had. @Doctakay

I think she is a bit too. This morning i helped her back up the steps by doing each individual step with her. Moving her legs one by one, she started to get the gist of it by the second last step and hopped up the last one herself.

Thanks for checking it out brother. I hope so too. It's small progressive improvements over time. But she has made so much progress even in the last two weeks. I'm gunna take her to some of her favorite places in the bush today and let her sniff about. I don't want the boredom of being at home slow her willingness or progress.

It also helps that dogs usually can heal up pretty well, especially the ones that aren't so elderly.

Delta's Pre Workout Stack

150gm Turkey Mince
4 scoops Rosehip Vital
10gm Collagen Protein
250mcg BPC157

Today we went out to some bush tracks that Delta and I used to go on MASSIVE bushwalks on.

She was nice and excited about it so she wasnt too much in her own head about her mobility.

There was alot of undulating and loose surface terrain, plenty of rocks to climb over and some creeks to splash in.

I was really happy with how well she did. We were out there for about 40 minutes, and now she's having a well deserved sleep on her bed in the loungeroom.

I switched from 1080 to 720p on my phone and then had to compress the videos so some quality may vary.

She's not built for speed anymore, but she's really coming along now 💪🏻 I was so proud of her today. She took to that terrain like she never left.

I'll know we've won it when we can get the stairs confidently again.

She even sounds happier! Awesome to see her walking down those rocks into that rocky water like nothing. What a champ!

Yeah, if they move around, that's usually a good sign.

She was deffo having a sook in that photo @Ulter bro. She's happy tho. She's just bungin' it on. She has a very expressive face, and wasn't in the mood for photos, she just wanted a nap and a treat.
Okay, that's good to know.

Massive MASSIVE milestone this morning EVO fam!

She climbed the back steps all by herself. And I didn't get a video 😭
She went outside by herself, and I watched her go down the stairs. Then I left her to her devices while I sorted out my gym bag and dose for the day.
As I was pinning I heard some rustling and see her shuffle up the last step all by herself, no stress just a big staffy smile on her face. Finished her business and decided she'd make her way back in 😁

I've been over the moon ever since hey. So stoked. This is HUGE progress physically and mentally for her. Now she and I both KNOW she can do it. So progress us gunna fly from here on in, I'm certain of it.

Delta Mobility Check 4/1/2026

We went for a bit of a quiet stroll offlead in a nearby town to see how she might go for longer walks. I let her go at her own discretion and choose the route.

She started strong and even did a light jog for a few meters. Climbed up some stairs so I asked her to do it again.

After nearly a Km she gassed out and sat down so I carried her back to the car the remaining 100 or so meters.

The rosehip is being consumed without dramas, as long as I hand feed her like the royalty she is.

I've added green lipped mussel for its joint and ligament anti inflammatory properties.

With her stair climb the other day and this longer walk today I reckon a KM walk isnt far off the cards.

Mobility and Activity
Check in Saturday 11/1/2026

We've had a pretty slow week together given I've been at work again. We've had some short walks and a stop at the bakery for a coffee though which she loves, cos she gets a small sausage roll.

She is still sneaking out down the stairs and back up of her own accord and I still havent caught her in the act with my phone. But theyre big steps for her.

Saturday was a stinker 40+ degrees. So we went to the mother inlaws place to see how Delly would go in the pool and play with the little rat dogs.

She did well but hates swimming and freaks out. She was alot more active and even got up a bit of a canter here and there which I havent seen in ages

Today though was alot for her, and I think it overloaded her legs and hips a bit too far because she couldnt walk last night and looked uncomfortable.

I'm adding Epijoint to both of our stacks, but i'll switch her to Forcyte (the canine version) when it arrives.

We're all out of BPC175 so thats out of the stack again until I can afford some more.

hot day but she's doing better seems, I think she needs to be loaded a bit to get the legs working, hows she doing day to day up stairs?

She's doing really well up the steps at home. At the missus place I have to gently hold her at the back while she makes her first few steps and can finish it herself but theres a few more steps there.

She was really loaded up in the pool. I felt she over worked herself. I had her do five or six swims across the pool, she didnt hate it but she didnt love it either and seemed pretty anxious.

She is beginning to run/canter again which is really good. I'll have to get her out bush again this week coming.

Mobility Check Sunday 11/1/2026

After a big day in the pool and playing under the hose with the other dogs I was worried she might have strained herself. She's a bit stiff in the hips, but here she is again today back at the Mother in Laws place doing laps of the garden and having a good snort about, without too much trouble at all.

Delta Mobility and Nutrition Check in

She is coming along nicely this week. She gets a big feed in the morning and a small follow up in the evening. She has kibble to graze on if she likes through the day. When I get home from work we do a small exercise walk for a country block or two, anywhere between 500M to 1km, depending on how much she can handle.

She's been ok on just supps this week, but I always see her moving better on BPC, which is coming back into the stack very soon. 😊

She has lost a noticeable amount of body fat but her legs are much smaller in lean mass than they used to have. We will be going to the vets again soon for a checkup and a discussion about whether nadrolone laurate (Laurabolin) is worth considering help build her legs back up, strengthen her tendons and keep some joint pain at bay.

Nutrition

Early morning raw feeds have a wing, mince, dairy and fish. I hide her supplements in the mince.

Raw Chicken Wing
Turkey or Kangaroo mince
Greek Yoghurt or Cottage Cheese
Sardines or Mackerel

Mobility Improvements

I've been told She has been taking herself outside to toilet and climbing the stairs without assistance, while I'm at work.

She even tried to have a run at a kangaroo the other morning which is a good sign things are looking up.

The video is Wednesday early evening 14/1/2026 starting her walk and then at the end of her walk. Which was about 1km or so for 30/40 mins.

Delly is a chubby princess for sure 😅 she's dropped alot of weight though which is important for her mobility and recovery. She was 26kg and now she's 22kg. When I first got her she was alot leaner at 19kg.

The cat is Cruikshanks. She's her best mate. Delta makes way for her all the time, like lets her eat first, shares her bed with her and what not. I think it's cos Cruiky silently rules the roost. We have another cat, George, black and white. Dumb as a bag of hammers though. Nowhere near as smart as Cruikshanks.

What do you give your boy for the arthritis? @Sammy123

Hahaha. Yeah my cat Pigalo is not dumb but he's extremely disappointed in me most of the day. You can go see him in my media. I shaved his back so he does not over heat for summer. I dont know specifically, just an osteo support from the pet shop. Do you have any recommendations. He's 2 years old so Im working on preventative methods

There's an osteo arthritis supplement called 4cyte. I give Delta the human version of it called Epijoint which I take also.

The legendary @MarshMonsta also has a log for his dog Zeus you can check out, he recommended some PetzPark supps a couple pages back in this log here which are on my list to get soon now that I'm nearing the end of her rosehip vital. The rosehip was ok, definately made some progress with it but not high on my recommended list.

steady on the nutrition and she's got kangaroo in there :D @doctay
Thanks @Sammy123. 🙏🏻 She's my little girl. Gotta do right by her.
super cute pics :D

It just worked out that way. She was a rehome.

I had a boy for 9 years from 6 weeks old. Was the love of my life and my best friend. He was there thru my drug addiction and recovery. We went everywhere together and did everything together. He died from a medication unexpectedly. Tore me apart and I cried rivers for weeks on end.

After a while my brothers friend suggested I take on their girl for them cos they didn't have time and weren't giving her the love and involvement she deserved. That's how she ended up with me.

Grieving dogs is extremely deep and difficult. Do you think she would be a good truffle hunting dog
Not wrong there @Sammy123 never had a connection like I had with Leeroy and havent ever since. Shit hurts bro.

Truffles Haha she deffo sounds like a truffle pig when she gets about... But nah not really, staffies have pretty ordinary noses by working dog standards. Plus I couldn't yell you hey, dont know of any truffle places to try.

Hey Thanks @ceo 😁 Cheers for that aye. I'm very confident she's going to make alot more progress this month. She's a bit clicky in the joints today. So gunna get some good fish oils into her and a gentle walk this morning.

Seems like they both love each other. Hanging out next to each other like that is a good sign.
They really do @Ulter always running up to one another when Cruiky comes back inside. Cruiky will do that cat thing and rub her face and body on deltas chest, and Delta will spend time licking her and cleaning her like she was a cat too 😆 It's a laugh watching them play too.

Yeah cat and dog language is mixing up together and they're trying to communicate they love each other.

Is it okay for a dog to eat a raw chicken wing? I thought the bones were not good for them or is it okay since it's raw?

Is it okay for a dog to eat a raw chicken wing? I thought the bones were not good for them or is it okay since it's raw?

Only ever if its raw, (cooked is brittle and breaks sharp shards off) the bones are good for their teeth. She gets chicken necks too for calcium, marrow and gum health, it also hardens her soft stools up. But you absolutely need to watch them when they eat wings and necks cos even though its unlikely, accidents can still happen.

Only ever if its raw, (cooked is brittle and breaks sharp shards off) the bones are good for their teeth. Yeah I thought I remember hearing that if you give them the cooked chicken it can definitely break in their stomachs.

Mobility Check Saturday 17/1/026

We went to the vet today to grab her apoquel and also do a quick consult with her surgeon.
I've noticed Delly has been pretty ginger on her leg when she goes to sit down and I was certain I heard some clicking yesterday when she went to get up. She has also been quick to fatigue and looks like she is under duress on shorter walks.
This all started after she decided to jump down from the bed the other night.

Turns out she has a fair bit of lateral movement in her knee cap, and she looks to have issues when it pops in and out. It kind of dislocates.

I'm confident that this will get better when she has her next lot of BPC going.

I proposed the possibility of her starting a course of Nandralone Laurate to build up her leg muscle again, lubricate her joints and provide some pain relief. The vet agreed this would be a good treatment idea but was unsure if he would be able to get Laurabolin these days and will get back to me, but is happy to go down that path.
I think we both feel the extra strength will keep her knee cap from moving aswell.

He's pleased to learn that the BPC is working and is keen on getting updates on how it goes.

We've been out and about today but we're home now couch rotting and Wifey and I have been eating like a pair of assholes, and Delly is snoring on Leeroy's old bed.

Here are some videos of Delta getting about. All staffies have a case of "wigglebum" when they walk but you can see her using alot of her hip to move rather than her knees.

Even with her bodgy knee, Dell managed to get up the stairs today with a little bit of help getting off the tiles first and her Mumma egging her on. Another milestone in her recovery journey

she looks happy and mobile :D i think if you do give her nandrolone i would go slow before that do more bpc imo

She is mobile but I know she's uncomfortable right now. But she's happy and other than her osteo issues she's stress free.

I feel the same way. Run up the BPC check how she's performing, and take it from there. The Nandrolone is a low dose and a long ester she'd have a pon every few weeks of we go that way. I need to keep an eye on her calories the way i track mine now (she jumped up nearly a kg) I want her to have the energy for our arvo walks, but she doesnt need the extra weight to struggle with.

I think she's happy thats #1 :D you're doing more for her than anyone could wish as a person, so she's gtg.
On the nandrolone i would be careful.

I will. I wont rush into it. I want her to remain happy and I would be lying if I said I don't have concerns for what Laurabolin could do to her heart her organs and personality.

@Doctakay really nice update great work.

The way you care for her shows a lot about you brother! Very amazing updates to cheer anyone up.

After nearly a Km she gassed out and sat down so I carried her back to the car the remaining 100 or so meters.
This is love!

What an amazing Veterinarian being so open and interested about the cutting edge treatments for dogs. I think this would be such a unique topic for the podcast!

Thankyou @HarleyGuy 🙏🏻 Appreciate you brother. I'm kinda taken aback by how much everyone cares for each other here. It's awesome.
I look forward to having a yarn on the poddy about Delly and her Log. We have some very open minded health and vet care professionals in my area of rural Australia. Thanks for coming past again.

Mobility Update Sunday 18/1/2026

I dunno how this has happened but her left leg has popped and she wont put any weight on it. She was fine all day and when I got her out of the car she wouldn't use her leg and still wont 😔

I'll do some more stretches with her and try to feel if the knee has moved.

Back to the drawing board. 😞This is unexpected and disheartening. She was doing so well, and I hate to see her uncomfortable.
I hope its temporary and she can put weight back on it tomorrow.

She is such a cutie oh my God.

This looks like it's more than just 'favouring' it and that something happened. If she isn't weight bearing tomorrow or by at least day 3 I'd take her in bro. I'm sooo glad she has you as her loving owner!

She has full range of motion and isnt giving any stick when I move her leg around... Fingers crossed. I'll let her rest for a bit and try again later.
Oh please let that him been a one-off for the day. Keep us posted please and great idea to let her just rest up as long as possible.

It's made me a better pet owner to my boxers. I show them more love now and I appreciate their health. Boxers are known for cruciate ligament injuries and I'm giving them Glucosamine and Chondroitin now because of @Doctakay 🙏

Brother you doing such a great job here, dont give up and keep going the exact same course....iv experience all sorts of shit with zues to be honest once I got his leg sorted the second time the other hind leg popped i thought WTF actually but its the imbalance of their injuries over time causing other parts to obviously weaken/fail...but I just kept pumping him full of bcp & tb...up around 1000mcg of each at times but mainly half that, your dog's front legs look strong still,a great outcome is still ahead i can see it!

Mobility Update Monday 19/1/2026

I'm told she didnt move around much today. She kept her leg tucked everywhere in the time that she did. She was excited to see me when I got home but still on the tripod.

I did a little stretch with her and tried to manipulate her leg into position again while she was standing and it worked for a few seconds but then she went limping again.

She's still pretty quick on it though aye.
She went and did a big wee out the front and then wanted to go straight back inside.
She was able to make it up the step at the door after the video ended. She just hopped up no worries.

On closer inspection the problem seems more associated with her hips somewhat too.

Booking in for another Vet visit this week.

Quick Update on the Velvet Hippo
Tuesday 20/1/2026

She's still full tripod when I got home. Seems a bit worse than yesterday now. Zero weight on the leg, she did try to move it by placing her foot down but pulled it back up. Soonest I can get her into our vet is Friday. She's a resilient little chonk.

Mum is with her all day long and takes her out front to cop squat whenever she might need.

She still has a great appetite and she's taking her supps no worries.

This morning she had Kangaroo mince, sardine and high protein greek yoghurt and more kangaroo mince for dinner.

I hate leaving her in the mornings. It makes me feel so guilty when she hits me with the puppy dog eyes.

I'll know more soon and be able to get her back on track before too long.

she has super puppy eyes on her. you are doing really well with her food :D

Slightly better news today.

Mum sent me a message while I am at work saying how Delta has started putting her leg down again. Not exactly putting weight on it, but extending it rather than tucking it up underneath herself.

I'll take it. Small win for now.

Here she is outside for a quick wee and a sniff around, sent to me by the old girl.

Isn't Mum a gem? She knew I'd like to know as soon as she spotted any improvements. ☺️

Mobility Update 21/1/2026

I've had her on a total of 2.5mg Meloxicam since yesterday and I'll give her another 1.25mg tonight. I removed the epijoint from her stack for now just incase the vitamin E dose was excessive for her.

She's using her leg again but she's still VERY ginger on it.

I'm very happy with this change in the right direction. It means she hasnt done any extreme damage and that the upcoming peptide run won't be for naught.

She's still eating well and smashed a tin of sardines, 80gm of kangaroo mince and 100gm of high protein greek yoghurt with 20gm of collagen protein peptide mixed in.

Here she is when I got home from work. Excuse my excited reactions and what not, I'm just letting her know how pleased I am with her recent recovery.

Thankyou @LevButlerov 🙏🏻 A little bit of Love can go a long way in healing. I even pray over her every night. We're still gunna go to the vet tomoz and maybe get some imaging done on that leg and maybe her hips, and hopefully reduce the amount of guess work involved and target our physio a little better.
