General T question Cyp vs P

Is taking 300-400 mg T Prop/ wk (100mg EOD) similar to taking 300mg T Cyp every 5 days?

I understand the esters etc, frequent pinning etc, but want to use T Prop and get similar or better results

I have been off and on TRT since 1997.
Took years but my sweet spot was:
300mg/wk Cyp every 5 days
2 mg Adix 2x/wk
500iu Hcg 2x/wk

Only issue was I was always a tad puffy

Been off since 2020 due to family etc

If substituting P for C, will Adix be needed?
Im assuming so


Ive gotten all my labs done, boringly average EXCEPT for
high HsCRP (I get very little sleep, 5 hrs usually and being overwt, been tested for just about everything and all ok)
Low total T of 286
Low free T of 5.7
Low DHEAs of 40
Low GH serum of .1

I do need to lose about 40lbs, am 5'11, 63 this year
Not working out at all (yet), working and care giving takes ALL my time.
Of course have no energy right now
Do eat pretty clean

Thoughts?
 
They are very much the same in total dose, but its how its metabolised by the body thats different, Prop will spike faster and clear faster which can cause flucuations - I liked prop, but so far finding the eth much smoother - you can use the steroid plotter website to see what this looks like visually
 
Thanks, which has less chance of water retention? Cyp always left me puffy when at the dosage needed.
How does E compare then to P? What do you mean by "smoother"?

welcome to the EVO family :D @RovinC but I see you've been lurking for years, good to have you share. :D
No, they are not the same even if the weekly mg looks similar because the ester length and injection frequency change blood levels.
100mg test prop EOD gives higher peaks and faster drops with less ester weight per mg, while 300mg test cyp every 5 days is less frequent, heavier ester, and usually smoother but still peak heavy, so they will feel different and labs will look different.

We know almost nothing about you day to day right now so this is all guesswork, you need to start a log asap so the EVO family can actually help you.
Post a simple log with daily food, sleep hours, steps or activity, bodyweight, and when you restart training, then we can talk test prop versus cyp, ai need, fat loss, and energy because without that baseline we are in the dark. 15min of your time to start and will change your life :D

HOW-TO LOG?

Why is a Log Journal important?

  • Doing a log will actually help you way more than just dropping random updates. When you lay it all out week by week you start to see patterns in your body that you won’t catch otherwise.
  • Other guys here run logs all the time and there’s no privacy issue, nobody is asking for your name or anything personal, it is just training, diet, and how the compound feels.
  • The feedback you get is also way better because people can follow along and spot things you might miss. It also helps the next guy who is thinking about running the same compound so you are giving back while you learn.
  • Even if you think you might not stick with it, just starting the log makes it easier to come back and add quick notes. That way you get more out of what you are running instead of keeping it all in your head.

To really guide you we need more info from you:
  • Please share your diet, training, cardio, sleep, supplements etc log with us in a NEW thread, full log journal so our guidance is based on facts you provide.
  • It will take 15-20 minutes max.
  • We have 100s of years of experience between us, so you need to post a LOG Journal with your stats (weight,height,age, years training, cycle history) diet, training, cardio, supplement, sleep details. If you don't log what you eat or train now, open NOTES on phone and start recording it there and paste here. Very easy.
  • Please post a Log Journal asap for us

@RovinC it's tough being a caregiver for sure; that takes up a lot of time so I completely get where you're coming from on that. You just have to put aside the time and find the way

Bros, the best way to answer this is by checking your estrogen when you get on the testosterone and seeing where it's at. You want to keep it balanced. You shouldn't need an AI if you keep your estrogen balanced

300 to 400 mg of test prop and 300 mg of test CYP is just about the same. It's not going to make or break anything. You don't need to sweat the small stuff.

We all need to lose some pounds haha but 40 pounds is an amazing goal. Are you considering adding retatrutide to your protocol? You should.

You're not gonna nail it down unless you keep at it and really experiment with your body so it's very important to work on that. Also losing weight will go a long way to control estrogen.

Im almost 63 now, and gained allot, mostly in my belly and flanks, like a tire.

I am interested in using peptides, just dont know whats what yet

My estrogen right now is dead center of "normal", only those I mentioned before are out of wack. I know that will change and Ill have to adjust accordingly

My wanting to use Prop for my TRT is that when using Cyp all those years, to get my labs where I was best took 300mg/wk, but was puffy from it.
Over the 23 years on it I adjusted my T, AI etc many times, and thats what put me where I was the best.

Was wondering if the Prop wouldnt make me puffy.

My body needs allot of anything to adjust thus the unusual dose for TRT

Even as a kid, going to the dentist he would give me novacaine, come back, not numb. Another shot, and another, an hour later still not numb. Of course didnt believe me and I can still feel the drill. About 3 hours later, finally numb, for like an hour.
In college would out drink my buddies and barely be buzzed. Pretty much gave up drinking totally by 1993.

So Ive done allot of trial and adjusting over all those years, and want to try something different, just going by what I used to use as a baseline

You can try it for sure, but to be very honest with you, I think you will find it harder to dial in, I have ran test p, test e and sustanon as trt and cycle.

I didnt see much difference in the water retention part of any of them, but I can tell you, giving the longer ester test a chance to hit steady state and stabilise in your body will give you the best results, its annoying but you will likely need to monitor with bloods every few weeks to see whats happening with e2, free t and shbg, injection frequency plays a role as does liver health, there is alot of other things that you should look into before the ester.
