Squatting. Fml right now after a few months off at the least. Not a break from legs altogether but just actual squats with free weight.

It seems to me that your ability decreases just as fast as endurance when not doing cardio.

I love to squat, I just don't love walking down steps or sitting down on the toilet for a few days after lol

lol, who doesn't use free weights to lift legs, especially squats?

Me lol I do a lot of leg press and leg extensions. I prefer machines because I can get a better contraction.

I am confused. Are you saying that you have not done squats in a few months?

I have once in a while but nothing too heavy. I go for volume in almost all my lifts now with moderate to light weight

I would but I have a fucked up knee which makes it less enjoyable. I have alignment issues so I tend to isolate each leg. Same with calves.

Something you might want to try is increasing weights each session. This can mean buying magnets, and packing them in a gym bag. I use these, and swear by them: http://www.performbetter.com/webapp...00351_1000156_1000156_ProductDisplayErrorView
For squats, give me 20 reps. By the 18th rep, you should be really straining (emotionally), to finish the rep. Pause at the top for a few breaths. Get to 20, rack the bar, fall down. Lol! Use the magnets each session to VERY SLOWLY increase weights up to another 5 per side, then repeat with the magnets, etc,. I'd like to see before and after quad, and ham shots after 12 weeks of this! This, plus constant waking nutrients, a solid 7hrs sleep, and of course, some gear, and yes, you'll be stunned at the results.

x2...BITCHIN! I love it DD. One thing I will vouch to is REPS over WEIGHt when it comes to squats. Likee DD said....instead of doing 4 plates 5 times try doing 2 plates 20 to 25 times with out stopping! Slowley increae the weight with this and you will be a MANNNNNNNNNNNN!!!

The key here is using enough magnets per side to add up to 5lbs. After reaching 5lbs/side with the magnets, slide on a 5lb plate per side, and one 1.25lb magnet/side. Add another 1.25 lb magnet the next session, and so on.

Tell me about it, had patella tracking issues and haven't squatted properly all year, had crack other night and 40kg felt like 100kg.......quads loved it..

oh u said "squat" those two exercises aren't a squat lol. I agree higher reps, 12-15 can build muscle, I just prefer to go heavy on front squats and do high rep with machines. I've done high rep front squats 20+, you will vomit simple due to the loss of blood from everywhere going to you legs lol.

Also try single leg work, like Bulgarian split squats (free weight) and single leg presses high rep. Forces you to drop weight and boy the burn is nuts.

I keep my legs sore, I love it. All the core power comes from down there. I dont understand guys that only do legs once a week. But again I live bikes and there is nothing like putting all that raw power into a crank.

I've got one for you.
Try Squatting or Deadlifting with Two Degenerative Hips.
I never seem to have a Problem doing them.
But Hell do I pay a price for 2 Days afterward.................................... JP
P.S.
Did some Light Squats for Reps of 20 and 30 with 185 lbs. about 2 Days ago.
I feel like someone hit me on Either Side of the Boys with a Hatchet. Right were the Legs meet the Interior Hip - Tis a Lovely Feeling !
