    Creatine and headaches

I was recently forced to stop taking creatine by my parents, who assume that it causes the tension headaches i get these days. I'm sure it doesn't. I've been off creatine for a little more than a week and I really feel the difference in my workouts. Is this usual when you stop creatine? And would it be worth it for me to start it again later?

I doubt it does too. But just how old are you?

If there's a negative side effect then you should stop taking it.

Creatine shouldn't be causing those issues, but the question is how old are you? It sounds like you are under 18 if you are still under your parents care, which means you should be following what they say and staying away from it until you are an adult

it can cause headaches but indirectly.. if it is a poor quality mono version it will absorb poorly since it isn't very water soluble, so it will sit in your intestines and bloat you.. which can cause a rise in bp.. which can cause headaches. as crazy as that sounds of a scenario it isn't that complicated and happens all the time with people who eat poorly or use steroids, so yeah it can happen to you here.

i would use creatine HCL instead which is much more water soluble

Never had this happen to me or anyone I've known but what Steve just said above makes sense when you think about it.

Were you taking pure creatine or a blended product?
