I have used an iPod for every training session for the last 6 or so years, so thats almost every day. I swear, comparing my hearing now with before then i am deaf as a door post. I have to ask people to repeat what they say a lot when in public and it has now become habit that whenever i get a call on the cell i plug my non-listening ear with my finger whether i can hear the person on the other end clearly or not.

It may or may not be connected to such regular iPod usage, but i've decided to knock it on the head for a few months to see if i get anything back. Anyone else notice anything similar?

I'm old and already have a lot of hearing loss to be honest. I haven't noticed much loss recently with earbud use though.

Theres a time weighted average. Even if you listen loudly an hour isnt going to do a lot of harm but it's still possible long term. Just listen to your music at a reasonable level. Problem solved. I have been listening to music during my workouts forever and I also work in a very loud industrial plant. I'm no stranger to loud noises and also knowing what measures you need to take to prevent hearing loss. Also my brother is a doctor hearing specialist, an audiologist, so I've learned a lot from him as well

Its possible it could be from listening to super loud music. You can go and see a doctor. Hopefully you dont need a hearing aid!
