I started to use niacin to help with my bad cholesterol levels. my LDL is too high and my HDL is low, so i gotta get that turned around. i've been using it for a few weeks and then i ran bloodwork and now my liver values are strained. why did this happen and is it from the niacin or something else?

Sounds like you took too much

Niacin is good for triglycerides, not cholesterol. Shouldn't be a liver strain unless megadoses are used.
