I heard this vitamin is very effective for muscle growth, I wonder which form gives better results and how much to take? thank you.

Vitamin D is actually a steroid. It is a cholesterol based hormone. It was only given the name 'vitamin D' so parents wouldn't be scared to give their children a food/supplement that contains a steroid. Vitamin D is VERY important for muscle growth and bone health.

Your body can actually manufacture Vitamin D itself from exposure to UV light so how much you supplement with really depends on how much sunlight you get. I recommend 1000iu per day for people in sunny climates. 3000iu per day for people in winter climates.

Vitamin D is fat soluble so make sure to take it with meals.

    It's the same so I can't see that it'd make a difference.

My wife has to have Vitamin D supplementation due to very low levels caused by her chemotherapy, she was prescribed capsules of 20000iu (I think) but due to possible malabsorption they gave her an injection, she was originally told that it could take up to 2 months worth of capsules to get to the level of what one injection would give her within a week

But, as you say, that might be due to here malabsorbtion issues.

If you are Vitamin D Deficient.
Injections will give you a Higher 25-OHD Level at 12 Weeks than Oral will.

In this Study, 40 Apparently Healthy Individuals were placed into 2 Groups.
The Oral Group received 60,000 IU's a Week for 5 Weeks.
The IM Group received 1 ~ 300,000 IU Injection.

    Results:
    Oral Group was 20.20 +/- 1.65 Ng/Ml @ 6 Weeks & 16.66 +/- 1.36 Ng/Ml @ 12 Weeks.
    Injection was 20.74 +/- 1.81 Ng/Ml @ 6 Weeks & 25.46 +/- 1.37 Ng/Ml @ 12 Weeks......................... JP
    P.S.
    Here's the Study.

people who have vitamin deficiencies usually have something wrong in their bodies which cause issues.

unless you live in a climate that gets very little sun. you should get lots of sun
