Protein after cardio workout

I'm planning on starting more cardio after my workout. I'm told it's best to do cardio after lifting weights to burn fat (something about how your body uses carb energy first, then fat energy second). Anyhow, my question is I usually take my whey protein right after my workout, should I still do this or wait to take it after my cardio? I'll probably try to do 20-30min of cardio.
 
Eat two hours before cardio and it can be something light. Dont eat a steak and expect to have good results.
