    protein powder past expiration date

Hello guys I want to know just how long after expiration date can I still use my whey protein powder. I still have about 3 bags of whey to build muscle protein from n2bm that I bough at a huge sale a couple of years ago and they have an expiration date of next month. I know it takes me about 3 month to go through a 5lb bag since I have switched over more to whole foods. can I use these bags a full 6 to maybe 9 months after they expire?

As long as you keep in a cool dry place like your fridge even, it should last a few months. I have done this at least and been fine using it.

Yes you can. Supplements don't really have expiration dates - more like best before dates.

As a supplement ages, it looses potency. That doesn't render it useless. Generally speaking, if a supplement was stored in a cool, dry place away from directly sunlight it is still safe to consume up to 2 years after the best before date. You have to be a little bit more careful with food based supplements such as protein powder and fish oil but you should be fine consuming it 2 years past the expiration date posted.

Completely unrelated to your question but just out of curiosity. What flavour did you get?

As long as your store your protein properly (keep it away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures), your protein should be absolutely fine for at least 3-6 months after expiration date.

If the seal is not broken the expiry date is very long if you had used it and left it half way then check it first . Just eat it one day if u have diarrhoea loose / stinky stools then throw it if not its good to use . And for the sealed packets rest assured its good

Certain whey proteins contain perishable ingrediants that will go bad. Post the label up before you take the random advice that's being tossed out.
Usually your good but it's not certain till I see the label.

This topic should be a sticky. It gets asked so often.

Yes, you will be fine. Glad to hear you are downing more whole foods. Good for you.
