    Raw eggs as protein source

Just curious if anyone out there is drinkign raw eggs for their source of protein? I got to thinking about it today after seeing it movies before so I decided to try a couple. Surprisingly they are tasteless. I'm thinking about doing that after I work out till I can get some protein shakes.

Never tried it. I suppose if you just swallow it like a raw oyster it wouldn’t really taste much.

My father used to do that for a while, but I'm not really interested in trying that.

I have eggs daily, but not raw. Liquid egg whites are fine for that, if you choose to, but that raw egg shit went out with Rocky and the 1970s lol

the bacteria risk is sky high unless those eggs are fresh from a farm that practices pastured practices.

the issues arise when the chickens are kept in cages, that is where disease spreads.

either way always look for the humane friendly stamp on eggs, very important. and cage free eggs don't mean shit. it has to have the sticker!

    Raw eggs as protein source

Salmonella is not easy to get from raw eggs. It’s a risk but it’s a low probability. I would just get pasteurized egg whites personally. They’re even more tasteless. Also, egg protein is less digestible in raw eggs. One study showed cooked egg protein was 90% absorbed, while 50% from raw eggs was absorbed. However cooking eggs can also make other nutrients less absorbable. Weigh the pros and cons.

Approximately 1 in 30,000 eggs is contaminated.

You will get both sides on this one. Some people say its bad as it can make you ill, others say its a small % so its worth the risk
