As the post describes, what can you ingest and it’ll still be considered fasting?

If you take vitamins in liquid form it's still fasting. Some herbs count as that too.

read my thread where i talk about this. https://www.evolutionary.org/forums...ld-more-muscle-my-prolong-fast-log-81856.html

vitamins are a bad idea if you want to get the full benefits and is completely counter productive. i explain why below

MULTI VITAMINS

the next one is multi vitamins. this one should be obvious if you understand what fasting is all about. but if you aren't that knowledgeable on fasting you might think 'hey i need my vitamins during a fast right?'.. well WRONG. the whole reason behind a fast is to STRESS YOUR BODY OUT to make it stronger. when you weight train that is what you do to your muscle to make it stronger. the body is the same way with fasting. so throwing vitamins at your body makes zero sense. but let's talk about the science. SIRT's are longevity genes that get triggered while fasting. when you take an antioxidant it actually blocks that trigger effect and the vitamin takes over. so the body becomes weaker cause it is depending on the vitamin and not the actual body cells to do the work. also most vitamins work better with food anyway, so save them for during your eating window and DO NOT TAKE THEM while in your fasting window. so i hope this makes sense why taking multi vitamins on a fast are a bad idea so please don't do it!

the only things you can mess with while water fasting are WATER and electrolytes. that is it.

Fasting is water fasting I assume, that's literally water only and electrolytes, like salts.

Does it have caloric content? If yes then it breaks a fast. If not then no. It also depends who you ask apparently. Strictly my opinion based on my own experience fasting for years is that people think way too deep into it and it makes no difference.

yeah I think people should trust Steve's advice on this and the actual science over some dudes who get their info from facebook. but thanks

the fact that literally EVERY SINGLE legitimate person out there who has studied fasting says you shouldn't use vitamins on a fast. thomas delauer, loren lockman, dr. jason fung, nobel prize winning scientists and doctors.

the entire point of fasting is to NOT get vitamins in the first place lol. that is the idea. it is to make your own body stronger. it would be like taking your kid to teach them to drive and then you steering for them. makes no sense at all and defeats the purpose.

also insulin has zero calories but if you inject even a tiny amount during a fast you break the fast instantly. i posted that study in that fasting thread. so just saying something has 0 calories so it won't break a fast is horrible advice. diet soda has 0 calories too, so does sparkling water. but both most certainly break a fast.

if you want to get 100% out of your fast then do it 100%. if you want to get half ass benefits then do it half ass.

Liquid vitamins are ok, fast is not broken

there are very very specific vitamins that you can take that won't break a fast. but you have to be super careful using anything off a shelf.

vitamin B1 is one that you can use. also creatine believe it or not is okay although you really don't need it

also electrolytes like magnesium, salt and potassium are okay. but again you really don't need it. it isn't gonna enhance your fast but will help with dehydration

Taking vitamins is no calories nor does it secret insulin so I think it's absolutely imperative to take them. Nothing better than N2GUARD.

Ask yourself what's more important -- adhering to the theoretical rules of what is technically a fast, or being optimumly nourished so you're strong, healthy and able to grow as much muscle as possible.

Only taking in calories would ever break you out of a fast, as long as you are not having any calories you'll be fine!

My brand produces two multivitamin products for Bodybuilders you can take while fasting.

Use N2Guard during cycle:
