    vitamin D dosages

    my doctor had me in and said i have low vitamin D which he thinks is why i feel tired all the time. so he recommended to take 5000iu's per day in capsules. i did bloodwork and my vitamin D is still low. so he upped me to 10000iu's per day and it didn't even budge. can anyone explain what is going on? my doctor won't give me answers.

    It seems like everybody is suddenly deficient in Vit D. I was taking a multi and sups and getting sun and it registered low. The thing about D is that it's fat soluble so it stays in your system for a while. Too much can actually be toxic. I 10,000 i.u.'s is way too much. 1000 is plenty. For some reason you may be absorbing it. Are you on any medications? People with Chrons and Celiac's disease can't absorb Vitamin D well.

    Try a natural approach - so get outside and get some sun. I suspect many are avoiding this cos of their fears of cancer.

    because most people cannot absorb their vitamins and minerals through food and multi's anymore due to poor gut

    fix your gut health. i'm the only person on here who pushes the narrative that you cannot be deficient in X and take a bunch of X and fix the problem. you have to fix the ROOT CAUSE of the problem first. your doctor will never be able to fix it, they only like to throw things at the problem. ironically the more you throw more shit at the problem the worse the problem gets!! stop doing that!!

    once you are able to absorb your nutrition properly then you won't have deficiencies. and no it isn't always the persons fault that they are like that. there are many factors beyond your control which causes this

    and no you cannot just 'get sun' to fix the problem either. humans evolved from the jungles of Africa. we aren't designed to live in New York, Michigan, Norway etc. places that get little direct sun year round and especially during winter. it won't happen. in those situations find a place that has an infrared sauna. that is going to be the solution there
