    How important is it to be taking zinc ? What are the benefits ?/?

    Like with almost any other vitamin if you are not having any symptoms of deficiency (in this case anemia for instance) and you have a diet consisting of variety of foods I don't see any alarming need for that.
    Is it good insurance policy. Probably, but keep in mind that there are risks of over-consuming certain vitamins also.

    Zinc is very important for testosterone production and immunity. Very important mineral. I personally don't think supplementing with it is necessary. You should be getting plenty through your regular diet
