Hopefully you get well in 2 weeks and can train again. @25homes I like to see you eating.

Fasting only makes injuries worse. I learned this early on once I joined this site. As soon as I stopped fasting all my aches and pains went away. Same with my wife. Neither one of us will fast again. No need too.

Fasting doesn't make injuries worse. It's actually an issue with deficiencies that cause the issue with joints, and the overtraining.
@stevesmi can chime in here.

this logic might seem to make sense if someone is severely malnourished. however it doesn't work like that in any of our situations. when you are throwing around heavy weights and doing crazy high volume you need to eat, that will give you an advantage and since you both powerlift that is what you noticed. example when i powerlifted i would fast into weigh in- then i would eat as much as i could to fill up my glycogen stores before i had to perform as this gave me an advantage of having full muscles vs. flat muscles. so yes that is what you noticed.

however even in this case if you powerlift, over the long term you should still implement fasting for its benefits here and there.

fasting is what got my herniated discs under control years ago. that is how i first got into it.

fasting is anti inflammatory so it will absolutely help the body heal up faster. autophagy is the regeneration of old cells into new cells.

fasting also boosts HGH naturally and is anti aging.

when you sleep at night you are fasting and you are healing. you don't heal when you eat, you heal when you don't eat.

example: when you get into a car accident and in your hospital bed they fast you for a reason, so you can heal. they don't pump you full of 500g of protein and 1000g of carbs.

you should absolutely fast if you are healing injuries, they will heal faster.. not slower. fasting is not the same as being malnourished or famined.

Imo it makes injuries worse with my personal experience. Same with my wife. That's enough proof for me to stop doing it. It's been the right call. IMO if your injured you need a cal surplus with no long time periods in between. Again this is my own experience so it worked for me.

but if this was true every fat person in america wouldn't have non stop joint and organ inflammation and be barely able to walk without having knee and ankle issues.

hospitals would throw 10000 calories at their patients a day who are bedridden with injuries

our ancestors would have been extinct from various famines throughout history and never survived any sort of natural disasters, wars, or famines. how did they find food while not eating? they had to walk miles to find food and barely scrape calories. if they had joint issues from not eating they would have been screwed.

its like saying HGH doesn't heal injuries. its literally the opposite

check out these studies on what they found with fasting and healing injuries:

there have been countless stories about fasting and healing the body. even people who have improved their eye vision, nerve injuries that did not respond to anything else, disc problems, etc. lots of benefits to weight lifters fasting. its a huge weapon

right or wrong?
You're comparing sedentary fat people who don't train compared to people like me who push the limits on the body so I don't agree.

Here's the thing. 25homes has been chronically injured ever since I joined this site 2 years ago. The only thing he does consistently is to abuse strength drugs like Tren and anadrol and fasting. If I was him I would change what he is dong so he can get injury free.

I guess maybe the one reason I am in the top 9 deadlifts in the world based on last years numbers might be because I can spot things fast enough that work and don't work. I would never advise anyone to fast while being injured and training hard.

We can agree to disagree but I know what works and what doesn't for both my wife and I.
