can any of you guys explain the anabolic window theory and how steroids affect this timing of nutrients after a workout.
the fact i'm naturally hungrier than usual to me is how I say it exists. That to me is like a "window" as I noticed if I don't take in big cals during this time, I don't look my best, therefore I say it exists.
that's because your body is depleted of glycogen. if you have ever ran a long distance and felt dizzy after, that is because your body needs sugars.. you are having low blood sugar. it isn't because your body is anabolic during that time.
when you take in your big cals as you say, your muscles fill up, instead of being flat. that is one of the biggest mistakes competitive bodybuilders do.. they go into their show flat.
I don't think there is much to it. It has never been proven scientifically. As long as you hit your daily macros that's what matters. Timing can help but honestly, we can over analyze every single thing we do in life.
Muscles restores over DAYS no hours. You don't have an anabolic window, it is more like an anabolism GATE that opens up for days after a muscle is worked. Your muscles will need sleep and food for the 72hrs following intense training that stimulates large numbers of muscle fibers.
That being said, it is just good idea to eat protein before and after a workout just because your body needs the fuel to move around and brain to think.
