avoiding distended stomach

I'm 23 years old and my goal for the next 3-4 years is to be competing with the big dogs, most os the pros I have seen life in tournaments have big guts, I woudn't like that to happen to me how can you avoid that? I want to take all precautions on that matter since the begining, thanks.

The 'roid' gut is a combination of a lot of things. It's a topic that is always under discussion in the bodybuilding community.

Steroids/AAS actually have very little to do with it. Excessive amounts of insulin are what is causing the distended abdomens. You have the most insulin receptors on your stomach and overdoing exogenous insulin will promote fat storage as visceral fat in the stomach region. This is fat storage UNDERNEATH the abdominal muscles. Even though the competitor will have a 6 pack, he still has a large amount of fat under neath the abdominals causing the pot belly type look.

HGH, when abused, will promote the growth of the internal organs which will further distend the belly. Excessive amounts of HGH also promote insulin resistance which increase abdominal fat stores.

Lastly, a lot of the distention is simply due to the sheer amount of food needed to be eaten to support the amount of muscle competitors have. Couple that with diuretics the last couple of days before a show (which really constipate most people), and not regularly using fibre/digestive health supplements and you will have a big pot belly from fecal matter stored up in the intestines.

I am a big advocate of digestive enzymes, psyllium husk and probiotics. As bodybuilders, we are constantly overloading our digestive systems and those three supplements will go a long way in promoting optimal digestive health.

Take a high quality probiotic first thing every morning with a glass of lemon water before breakfast. Look for a probiotic supplement that is stored in the fridge. Remember that probiotics are a live bacteria and a product stored at room temperature will have a greatly reduced potency. A good probiotic supplement shouldn't be cheap.

Supplement with digestive enzymes with 2-3 meals per day. In particular look for the digestive enzymes proteases and peptidases, as these enzymes split proteins into small peptides and individual amino acids.

Psyllium husk is the highest natural food source of soluble fibre you can obtain. The majority of the fibre you intake from your daily diet is insoluble fibre. The key benefit of soluble fibre is that soluble fibre absorbs water in your stomach and creates a gel. It gives your intestines a sort of 'internal scrubbing' as it passes through. It will help keep you regular and the faster you can remove toxins from your body, the less likely they are to be re-absorbed.

As long as you avoid using HGH and insulin, or use those in moderation, you should not have this huge gut. As @muskate has well explained, there are a lot of factors leading to this condition, and you can't limit the origins to just one thing.

something that never gets talked about is the damage to the stomach lining that you get from abusing harsh steroids and drugs like clen over the long term. nobody wants to accept this but when you use something like tren or clen your stomach gets destroyed.. thats why you get heartburn on them.

this is why it is important to always use n2guard which contains supplements like Phosphatidylcholine, which protect the stomach lining.

If you area taking about the big guys being pro bodybuilders, then yes insulin and hgh are the culprits. BUT, the average guy in the gym...its most likely a combo of shitty diet and steriods like dbol causing that.

I can't tell you how many skinny guys have decended bellies....

This look is from abusing HGH and Insulin. Stay away from those and keep your diet clean. You can get big and lean with a good diet and training program and with adding moderate amounts of gear.
