I wanted to get a discussion on this going because there have been several names lately that have died like Chris250 and bait abbaspour who both were too young to die.. I think Bait was only 35

we all know that if you abuse steroids for years it will strain the shit out of your heart, plus carrying excessive mass on your frame is going to further put pressure on the body .

I'm thinking though what happens with these guys is they have such a body dysmorphia that they peak in the game and then have no where to go but down. whether they are strength training or bodybuilders. so they have to use more drugs to compensate, even if it means fucking up their hearts more.

you look at any professional sport and the best athletes do not make it very far past 35 before they are retired and the younger dudes take their place. bodybuilding is so different cause you have age groups so you can keep competing against your peers no matter what so at what point do you say enough is enough and pull back? if you have that mental problem you cannot. this is why I tell young guys to chill on using steroids till you get much older, cause once you open that can of worms you won't be able to shut it!!

what is your view on this issue? we are going to see a lot of dudes dropping dead more and more as time goes on because of the ease of access to steroids and other harsh drugs like clen and mass builders like slin/gh

I just want to put out there I knew Batio from meeting him several times and actually I'm friends of close friends to him. Its really sad man. He has been battling a disease not many people have or ever could beat. It wouldn't really be fair to associate that to his steroid use. Everyone is obviously different but he was up against something he couldn't beat.
A lot of things could have caused it who knows.

Its the problem with the sport. There's always that one freak of nature that pushes the bar higher and now everyone has to hit that mark. For many its never possible and they will die trying. Big Rammy seems to be the newest game changer. Scary to think what freaks will come after that dude. And also what people will do to get to his level.

I think there is always the need for education to expand. I personally just got into the sport but see myself stopping in the near future for sure. There is no chance for me to win an Olympia... Not win and live. People just need to realize what is more important and what the true consequences can be. Unfortunately no medical foundation will ever diligently test the effects of these drugs on the level of a bodybuilder protocol.

FYI I wont link it here out of respect but there is a go-fund-me for Bat's family and everything regarding the situation if anyone is interested. You can find it on google.

the fitness community has convinced people that having ripped abs and being weak as fuck with a bad heart is somehow healthy. zyzz is a perfect example..
Ya seriously. Hahah idk how this is all gonna play out the next few decades. It will be interesting.... I hope the best but I agree, we gonna loose a lot of well known people.

Way too high of doses in a short period of time are being used today. Everyone wants to skip hard work and patience...Some bodybuilders just get unlucky like bait and a few others. But some young guys (Zyzz was a perfect example) just skip a few years of hard work and jump on to big AAS cycles. Shit, at least run a small cycle of test and a mild substance like anavar but NOOO everyone has to jump on Trenbolone, Super DMZ, and Halotest on their 1st or 2nd cycle. Like really??? Whatever happened to people only running 10-20mg of a Methylated Oral? Everyone has to jump to 50-100 damn mg on their first cycle. The young people who take roids and dont even compete are even funnier. This trend is getting huge with people under 23. This generation of bodybuilders is filled with so many fake faggots....

Excellent topic. Why is that once we open that can that we cannot close it?

Is it because we get spoiled with the fantastic/rapid results? Or is it psychological dependance?

Because of the significance and prevalence of post-cycle depression is there also a physical dependance that some develop?

A lot of times all the warning signs are there but so much of the person's identity is wrapped in their body that they ignore the signs and keep pushing the envelope.

The people who truly love and care about you don't care about how you look. They care about who you are as a person. Health should always be your first priority.

There's only so much you can take until your body gives up.
Any forms of drug abuse leads to death.
Thats why I believe if you're going to blast and cruise, you need to take some time off.
People stay on gear year round, and some add in stimulants, gh and insulin as well..

There is also one issue to keep in mind. Unfortunately, unless you personally know the case in details, you will never really know what was the exact reason of the death. Steroids might help, but if the person had some other condition from before, that might be decisive.

Like could you imagine just what it feels like to be in the shoes of someone in Bat's situation. Really. Think about it.

Your entire life almost you worked to achieve your dream. You become a bodybuilding legend. And then you face sitting and watching yourself and everything you dedicated your life to litterly be ripped away from you. Your body withers and dies while you watch.
Just think about that.

I also agree with lev. You can not determine what did or did not kill these people by just defaulting to the drug use. We don't know since this stuff is not medically tracked or anything.

Biato supposedly passed from vasculitis which can be caused by an infection or an auto immune disease im sure years of anabolics didn't help but its something that can kill anyone even a perfectly health clean person

This is personally why I am against blasting and cruising. Not because of the toll it has on your body, but because it will make it that much harder for you when you finally do decide to come off...

At the end of the day though, we're all adults, we're all capable of making our own decisions regardless of how stupid they are. If you ruin your body with steroid abuse you have nobody but yourself to blame at the end of the day.

Another thing that pisses me off to no ends is how hypocritical some of the iconic body builders in our community are. Rich Piana once said in his videos that his priorities were 'health and longevity'. To me that is absolute bulls***. No matter how you look at it, with the amount of steroids that guy is injecting, there is absolutely no doubt that he would be healthier AND live longer without them.

Sure, steroids if used correctly will not destroy your body, but the thing is once you cross a certain line you are trading away your health for superficiality. Injecting Tren or taking oral steroids can ONLY have a negative impact on your health, never a positive one. People need to realise this and think twice before delving into high doses of dangerous compounds.

^^^ I would not take advice from any of those juiceheads on anything

they are freaks of nature and they do a lot of things wrong that would hurt or even kill a regular person, but they get away with it because of genetics and because they are crazy

no different then riding a motorcycle at 140mph. it will work on a tiny % of guys who are lucky and gifted, but most people will end up fucking themselves up

The human body isn't made to carry around 300lbs. Way to much stress on the heart and body. Add steroids that raise your red blood cell count year round and you got yourself a problem.

Exactly why I get mine checked twice a year and get monitored for high blood pressure, etc. Nothing is worth my life

Their deaths are more magnified then the average joes. A bunch of people i grew up with died young also but you dont read about it in the paper or the internet.Life is short and its ends quicky for many before their time. Its just the way it is

I think we are seeing what happens when Pandora's box is opened. Our understanding of chemistry has changed. Old timers took high doses but test was not available. Pyramid style was common and believed in... Look at Arnold. Primo 100mg ed... mild AAS with controllable growth and great genetics. Lee Haney was up next... freak of nature... more harshness in the chemicals... he seems to have settled now. Hgh in the volume taken plus slin and Tren in high doses... wow.. the impact is tremendous. I like tren for its ability but I don't have ten hours a day to lay around sleeping... lol.So I avoid it for the most part.

I look at the modern BBs and wow... there is little margin for error....these guys are large...

To me the fun is how great I can look within my frame... but at over 50 I am not looking to become the next Jay Cutler either. I want to manage looks, aging, size, strength and capacity to grow strong while not blowing every valve in my body so to speak. HGH... i love... it changed my life but at 4iu a day, not 10 or 12 or 14.

IMHO.

What are some clear warning signs to know you should get off ?

Isn't it making sure you keep going to a doctor and getting blood tests routinely to make sure your healthy ?

Well unfortunatly it's not always clear.... a lot of things can just go wrong out of no where.

The other issue is the lo g teem damage. Now nobody really can link the two together.

You see a lot of guys get heart problems or you see Bat and the disease he was battling. Now it is a good chance there is relation.... but nobody can actually say, HEY! STEROIDS CAUSED THIS!

There no true proven evidence steroids are the cause for any of it. That's the proble.. ow this could be solved if they wanted to invest in testing this type of stuff but that's not going to happen. Best we can do is speculate. There will always be opposing sides to this argument. They change with every case.

Best you can do is monitor your body and stay in touch with the doc like you said. Take every precaution you can.

Really glad to see this thread, because honestly I've been heavily reconsidering steroid use. The more educated I become about the possibilities, the risk/reward profile gets worse. And I just see this tunnel, culture, forced imagery, all leading to potentially dangerous drugs. Making searches on a forum, and finding a banner with Justin Rhys still on it, remembering him being in tears about what he had done to himself, and thinking "well, it killed that guy. Not that old."

A little won't hurt right? But no, surely even just one test/deca/anavar cycle will take a few years off. I'm on peptides now and shit gave me a fever of 101.8. Not a natural thing.

But what I really appreciate about this thread and this place is general is the candidness. Too many boards to name actively and shamelessly downplay the risks. Also, reading opinion's about how the pros today look like freaks (agreed), and how coming off steroids can lead to depression, helped me understand where this place is coming from- and I agree with it. Just the open state and awareness is nice.

And then always consider that a lot of the guys who died, weren't able to hop on the board to warn you not to take it too far. Most call it "survivor's bias". If what happened to them hadn't killed them, they'd tell you how to avoid it.

Very well said.

We can't have too many reminders to be smart and cautious about this.
