Can you actually absorb egg whites

Chris Bumstead said don't drink egg yolks because they have extremely low bioavailability.
I know yolks are not egg whites, but what about drinking egg whites from the cartoon? If it's still a raw egg, is 50g still bioavailable as 50g?

I wouldn't put much stock in his assessment. Whether the protein is denatured by cooking or ingested raw really doesn't matter as far as your body's ability to break it down to amino acids for use in building it's own protein chains. That said I would cook or otherwise sterilize my eggs to reduce the possibility of bacterial contamination.

i despise these carton'd egg whites. no clue why anyone would consume that garbage in the first place which is heavily processed, hence why it can be put into a carton and sold in the first place. essentially you are drinking dead eggs, no thanks.

eggs are a great source of nutrition, IF you get the right ones. humane friendly, pastured eggs is the key. look for that humane friendly stamp which means that farm was inspected and certified. don't fall for the 'cage free' bs. all that means is the chickens spend X time outside of a cage, they could be on top of each other in a barn for all we know. you want your chickens outside running around in the sun, eating bugs off the wrong, pecking seeds, and doing what chickens are supposed to do and laying healthy eggs free of disease. those are the eggs you want

then you want to cook those eggs properly, never overcook and never quick fast. use unrefined coconut oil. the yolk should be liquidy or you overcooked the egg.

Totally didn't think about them being processed, even when I refuse to buy anything pasteurized.
Yeah that whole free ranged label is such a scam. I was reading up on it the other week. They can still be inside and labeled free ranged

yes look for the humane label or visit a local farm near you and talk to the farmer and ask him how his chickens are treated and what they eat. the small farmers are going to be honest with you, it is the big corporate farms that are the scumbags

Totally agree with you. I hate anything corporate. Been on this whole foods diet and some Vietnamese dishes. But damn it's hard to ignore even an organic poptart [emoji23]
