Cardio During Bulking: Necessary or Optional for Lean Gains?

parazpro

Hey Evo fam,

I’ve been skipping cardio during my bulk, thinking it would interfere with staying in a calorie surplus. My logic was that doing cardio would mean eating even more food to remain in the same surplus, which takes extra time and money, things I’d rather avoid.

However, I’ve been wondering if skipping cardio might actually be holding me back from gaining lean mass efficiently. Could doing cardio accelerate lean bulking by improving nutrient partitioning, recovery, or overall performance? Or is it unnecessary as long as I stay in a surplus and train hard?

Would love to hear your thoughts and experiences!

You should be doing a min amount of cardio year round period. During a bulk you would be doing SS LISS to to keep the heart healthy. Has nothing to do with gains. What will hinder you is doing HIIT type cardio while growing.

S. Gentz is correct

I use cardio all year round. For heart health and also helps your training at the gym. Specially leg training getting extra reps, as you gas out before you legs are really done.

cardio is a must during bulking bro
its for the heart and lean gains at the same time

skinny dudes in the 80's who didn't know how to train or eat started that bro science that cardio eats away at gains.

this is false.

muscle and fat are 2 different things. doing cardio doesn't burn muscle!!

2nd you need cardio to train your heart to be stronger. the stronger your heart the better your results.

bros If you want to keep your heart health strong, you should do cardio!
cardio is good for you.

You're overthinking things too much with the whole surplus thing.
Tell us more about you man. Are you that skinny where you're worried about any type of Changes.

You should definitely do cardio if you want to succeed in Fitness.
It's foolish not to.

You should always aim to be cutting fat.
Building muscle boils down to training.

Bodybuilders do more cardio than many other fitness sports lol.

To say cardio is bad for You is insane.

Yes, I am looking forward to update my log and posting a pic after I fix the elements. So, for cardio since I need to consume more calories to achieve the same surplus, how often a week and how long per session is fine during bulking? My strength training lasts 1 hour 30 minutes on average.

Skipping cardio is the worst thing you can do, it is absolutely needed on a bulk just for heart health and endurance purposes
