I wonder if your creatine varies depending on cutting of bulking, my trainer says you have to take less when cutting
which is my case because creatines causes water retention affecting the fat burning process, thank you for your
advice.

Depends on how much creatine you are taking per day

I agree with Muskate. So 5g a day. Only in a few rare cases do we see users mention true water retention
 
He is only saying that because some people will retain water with creatine supplementation. Most of the time though, those people are taking way too much or their product is not pure creatine. 5g per day is a good dose regardless of your goals.
