Food looks great and you show a valuable lesson that consistency is key.
Absolutely! I try to remind myself as often as possible that results won't happen overnight, to trust the process, to just show up everyday no matter how I feel. I don't always want to go to the gym but I go anyway.

I'm reading on consistency. There's this book "The Slight Edge." That book is not a magic pill but simply an eye opener. There's work to do, but there's this compounding effect where results build on top of each other over time to deliver greater and greater results... if we don't quit. This concept applies to every area in life.

I often wondered why I get to have a great physique, but have poor results in other areas. It's not a lack of desire, nor will. It's just that I didn't understand the importance of consistency. Once I set my mind onto something, where a goal becomes my North star, I have to do something everyday in that direction, and I keep going, come hell and high water.

Day 23 (Rest day)

My pecs were sore because of yesterday. 🏆

Not much happened today. All went smoothly.

I focused on resting and taking care of myself.

For my cardio I took a walk in nature. I was listening to Michael Singer's podcast. This time, he was talking about consistency. I realized that yoga pretty much resembles stoicism in a sense. Both try to control their thoughts and not succumb to fear, emotions, boredom — becoming masters of the mind.

I did ate my can of tuna with mustard! Macros 100%!

Let's go to bed and do this visualization again... myself on a beach, jacked AF...

Day 24

To puke or not to puke. That was the question.

It wasn't really a question. It was just a sign that I was doing something right.

Jumping from 135lbs to 180lbs on the seated cable rows was a big gap especially after the pull ups but I still managed to pull it off. My form wasn't super clean, and I failed half way through the reps, but I did rest pauses and cheat reps to keep the intensity through the roof.

Doing the cable rows supersetted with the bent over side laterals redefined the word "retarded." My whole back was pumped. I felt like a turtle. On the pull ups I added 20lbs, and that is on top of my own weight gain. Since last time, that's probably +30lbs which is not negligible.

The owner of the gym asked me when was my competition. I don't have a competition. I do this out of love.

Though, it's a good idea. It could allow me to get through the whole prep, add a why to the whole thing which could make my gains more dramatic, meet other like minded individuals, share some tips, see what exists outside of my little world.

Workout:

Back/Biceps (workout #1)
Wide grip pull ups10(5FR), 8(5FR), 6(5FR)BWBW+20
Close grip pull ups3*f + 5FRBWBW+10
Seated cable rows12(4CR), 10(5CR), 8(6CR)135180
(superset)Bent over laterals12(2CR), 10(3CR), 8(4CR)3842
Hyperextensions3 sets of 15-20 repsBWBW
Concentration curls8, 10, 12 (this is a double drop set)3030*
Barbell curls10(CR), 8(CR), 6(CR)66*77*
Incline dumbbell curls12, 10, 8 (2 secs negative)3542*
Incline hammer curls12, 8 (this is a single drop set) * 225*42
Behind the back w. curls15, 15, 15 (this is a double drop set)47*
Behind the back w. curls12, 12 (this is a single drop set)56*
The * means I have to pick a heavier weight next time because I failed at or beyond the recommended reps

Doing the curls, I saw veins on my arms that I never saw before. I have all these little veins popping up on the inside of my biceps where the skin is thiner.

For my cardio I took a walk in the neighborhood. I did 4k. I had a pump again in my calves.

Tomorrow is leg day. Let's rock!

See you tomorrow, brothers.

nice to hear you can add some spirituality to your workouts

That is great that your gym owner thinks you are competing very good compliment

I don't eat two hours before I train. If I do I will throw up every time

shakes always make me throw up during a workout

nice going for a walk around your neighborhood
