Wednesday July 10 cont’d

Cardio
1 hr elliptical machine
2 min cool down

Foods
1 granola bar type thing (see pic)

Fluids
7 bottles water

Had fun today and my daughter even kept me company while I used the elliptical. Would’ve liked to eat a little more but so far not much of an appetite. Thought I might eat when I fed my daughter earlier but still felt full from breakfast. Feeling great though plenty of energy ready to do it again tomorrow. I’ll try and get some vacation pics too. As always I truly appreciate all the support, hope yall have a great day!

Not usually, been to cali twice in the last 20 years or so. I was born in Long Beach but moved away when I was 9. Still have family out here that have never met my not so little anymore little one so I figured we’d come out see the family. Definitely going to universal and knotts berry farm. Doing as much of the tourist stuff as possible went to Hollywood today that was pretty cool. I’ll get some more pics up for sure. Thanks again brother!

@Ns5905 thats great get out there bro :) but bring protein bars and try to keep low carb high protein
lets see some pics as you go there and train at home if you can push ups squats etc dont stop training

lol yea that’s the struggle. I’m Italian so pizza to me is like cheese to a mouse lol. Gotta say no though. So far so good on the Coke front though not too difficult to pass up actually.
not the first time i've heard that logic about italian food. here is my reasoning.

Americanized pizza is not italian food

americanized pizza is fake dough, fake cheese, fake sauce, drenched in garlic and refined oils
just about the most unhealthy thing you could put into your body short of pesticides or bleach

so here is the solution. make your own pizza. its easy to do. use cauliflower crust. raw cheese, homemade tomato sauce and pure olive or coconut oil.

also keep in mind these italian dishes like lasagna and spaghetti are things that are a few times a year celebration dishes. they aren't a weekly or daily food choice for an actual Italian. if you actually go to Italy and look at what actual Italians eat it is actually A healthy Mediterranean style of eating which is nothing like the diet you have been on. so if you're going to do the whole I'm Italian thing then that's great but actually stick to what Italians actually have eaten over the past 5,000 years and not what a American franchise restaurant claims is Italian food. and i'm sure you agree Olive Garden isn't real italian food either lol

do some googling on what people in Sardinia eat and how they live their lifestyle. these people live past 100 no problem and they aren't sitting around eating pizza and drinking coke all day. if you took them a meal from olive garden or papa johns pizza they would probably politely accept it then when you aren't looking dump it into the trash. thats when i do when people offer me birthday cake lol

you going to be the most jacked firefighter if you listen to us on the diet

the fire responder culture is a lot of junk food, drinking and partying. just the way it is but you got to get away from it

once you tighten up your diet you'll see how fast you get better

make sure you're getting in your fruits and vegetables that's going to be the staple

Jogged 2 miles approx. slow time 22:27.

Sorry for the late update. Been a busy day. Took my daughter to an amusement park spent a good 10 hours or so there, wish I tracked my walking I def feel like I covered a lot of ground. Had a pretty good appetite today as you can see lol could’ve done without the baked tater in hindsight. Didn’t get to hit the weights till late. Moved into a different hotel today closer to where I’ll be heading the next couple days. Gym is without a cable machine but I’ll make do. Pretty worn out today and I think my short jog reflects that. Working my way through talks replies. Much appreciated hope yall are doing great.

keep up with the cardio that builds a strong heart
Absolutely. Biggest killer of firemen in the line of duty is cardiac arrest. Def not the way I’d want to go out
bro elliptical for poosies, get out there in full firefighter gear and do some hill running
lol yea it’s definitely a little soft. Adding the gear to anything is a killer. I do stairs pretty frequently in gear at work. Always false seams and they’re never on the 1st or 2nd floor. Even 3rd would be nice lol
the granola bar is okay but there are better choices to make you don't want to be eating things out of a box
for sure. Someone once showed me some type of no-bake granola bar or something like that. I know the girl I’ll ask her about it when I get home.
don't be shy to say no when it comes to being offered junk
Most of the time I’m if I’m being offered junk it’s dinner time at the firehouse and by now I’m not too shy to turn anything down from them. Sometimes these guys start thinking their Gordon Ramsey in the kitchen and I’ll have to take them down a notch or two lol
the fire responder culture is a lot of junk food, drinking and partying. just the way it is but you got to get away from it
you hit the nail on the head. It’s changing nowadays I think my generation is the last of the drinking smoking partying firemen the kids now are coming into this job like athletes they look at us older guys like we’re crazy.
damn man my ex ran away with a firefighter and took my kids, i hate you guys lol
“Trust them with your life, but not with your wife” lol. All jokes aside sorry to hear that. I been through the custody court myself. It’s awful. If it’s any consolation, she’ll probably divorce the fireman in due time. Check the divorce rates for firefighters.
you going to be the most jacked firefighter if you listen to us on the diet
I believe that to be the truth. I just got to keep my end of it.

Thats all true. I’ve never been to Italy myself but I’m a second generation American my grandparents and some of my aunts, uncles and cousins are off the boat. The food and the cooking is much different than what you’ll find in most restaurants. Your birthday cake tactic is a classic. I’ve done that with my exs cooking a time or two. Even my German shepherd wouldn’t eat her food.
