Domestic Package Issue

Just checked the mail and received what I believed to be a 'package' that I was waiting on via US domestic regular priority mail. However, inside the box is a letter from the plant manager at a nearby sorting USPS facility that says your package was damaged or opened in transit and we are sorry for the inconvenience.

Nothing in the package. This was domestic usps no sig required.

Clearly I should refuse any follow up 'deliveries' requiring a signature right?

Has anyone ever had this happen domestically?

I would contact who you bought your gear from and send them a picture of the letter.Hopefully they will resend you your stuff.

I've had a damaged package come with that note but the contents were still inside it. If your stuff wasn't inside then you should definitely send pictures and take some kind of action.

Did anything happen as a result of the note? No issue with any follow up?

I will definitely contact my source.

This blows.

This sounds very suspicious. If they damaged your package during shipping, they would just put the contents in a new box, along with the note, and deliver it to you. They wouldn't remove and keep the contents of the package.
This sounds almost like a controlled delivery trying to bust you. I would be VERY careful about receiving anymore packages.

Contact your source and explain what happened and send him a picture of the note. Ask him to re-ship your package to a different address and name then your own. Get it shipped to a friend's house.

Thanks for the insight guys.

Do they normally pursue small packages that are clearly for personal use?

Is this normal to have issues with domestic shipments for personal supply? It's not like I'm ordering raws or something.

How do you find a local source. This is not cool at all.

Unfortunatelly, they might have confiscated it without excessive noise, as it should be pretty obvious that it was for personal use, not for distribution. Be careful from now on. As for the resources, check the source section, where you will find all kinds of feedback on different suppliers.

I've had a package opened with gear hanging out taped together.. still delivered anyway.

in your situation sounds like the contents either leaked and had to be trashed, or one of the workers who handled your stuff decided to keep themselves a gift. a lot of these workers that get hired partime are just 19 year old kids, they know you won't do anything so they will take your stuff if they see an opening

thanks for all the input guys, Stevesmi - that's what I figure, they must have gotten taken/damaged/removed by someone otherwise I would have gotten a different letter stating that the contents were illegal or something to that effect.

It literally looks like some worker found himself a present and put me a note in there knowing I have zero recourse.

I can't imagine they would dedicate resources to go after such a small amount. Especially since it literally looks like about 80% of the people at my gym are on something...
