I think recomp would be perfect, your insulin sensitivity should be sky high now. You can still gain a significant amount of muscle while getting leaner since you also have “Noobie gains” to utilize. Only thing I would change is when you get back focus more on actually weight lifting but still have a 20 min post workout cardio session.

Yeah I’d save your energy for growing more muscle tissue, you won’t need to be loosing body fat at such a fast rate when you get back. Better slow it down when you get back and build some quality muscle, you’ll actually lean out more that way as well. But that’s just my 2 cents :)

My food is out of whack. I didn't buy much since we will be leaving for 8 nights. So today I had my normal Shake, I ate my last steak, had a salad, and don't strangle me, but I ate 3 pieces of left over pizza from the grandkids. I'll have to get a few items to last me until Friday. I did hit my goal of 225, but im sure i blew it during the Holiday weekend after the fast. I'm not even going to look at the scale. I have 2 more mornings of working out before leaving Friday morning.

Bro you eat heaps of red meat I love it 💪 good work on the bench brother keep pushing!

it really is up to you where to go from here
everybody wants to bulk as they get older it seems
 
I would keep cutting to your closer to 12 or 13%
that will give you more flexibility
 
keep cutting then recomp
I don't think a recomp makes sense quite yet
 
the important thing is you get healthier
you have a family and they love you and they want to see you get healthy
