I drink energy drinks all day but mainly 2 monster energy drinks before training with 1 red bull. I like the sugar spikes. I been training on empty stomach lately because of uni, so all cool to take energy drinks on empty stomach?

You're drinking too much sugar from the looks of the situation. I wouldn't suggest this much sugar even if you're a skinny guy because it's not healthy.

Energy drinks drank on an empty stomach will GREATLY spike cortisol levels. Cortisol is a stress hormone and very catabolic of muscle tissue. Drinking that many energy drinks per day is not a good idea to begin with, especially on an empty stomach.

Eat a small meal of a high quality protein source and complex carbohydrate source 60-90 minutes before your workout. Something like a can of tuna, a bowl of oatmeal and a banana. 30 minutes before your workout take 3 pills of D-spark from n2bm.com + a b100 vitamin + a small cup of coffee. I promise that you will have much better energy throughout your workout, no crash, and will get much better results from your weight training session.

The more effective on a empty stomach but I wouldn't recommend them. Simple sugars will have you burned out fairly quickly if that's all you had before a workout, complex carbs are more ideal . Like Muskate mentioned, Tuna along with some brown rice will provide sufficient energy to blast through your training. Use caffeine when you absolutely need it because abusing it will indefinitely lead to high cortisol levels

Energy drinks are very bad for your health - they have a lot of stims in them, and tons of sugar. Furthermore, by taking them on an empty stomach you are damaging yourself even more. Better opt for some pre-workouts, that are much more healthy and safer, and most importantly - they are definitely more effective. For instance, you may use DSpark, which has no stims and sugar, and gives some amazing pumps.

we discussed this on our last podcast exactly

you are basically running on fumes all day .. using these nasty and unhealthy energy drinks as your fuel instead of food. over time this will come back to bite you. also they are ruining your sleep in the process and you might not even realize it they prevent you from reaching deep stage 3/4 sleep

this seems to be a trend among the young crowd because they copy the bad advice from some of these youtube guru's who are hyped up on energy drinks all day to get them through

Also, one of my husbands employees was drinking energy drinks all day and ended up with major health issues. These energy drinks are essentially "fake" energy. They are terrible for you. If you are tired....it's your body telling you "I'm tired" either from lack of sleep, poor adrenal function, poor nutrition, etc etc etc. Flooding your already tired body with sugar and caffine is only going to make it cry for help more often and harder. Then the cycle repeats.

I won't get all biblical on you. ..but years and years ago energy drinks did not exist. People ate fruit, nuts, seeds, meat abs complex carbohydrates for their energy. This is what your body is begging you for. ....feed it the fuel it needs for good clean energy.
