Energy drinks vs preworkout

Right now I'm on a tight budget. I can afford a preworkout or an energy drink but energy drinks are much cheaper for me like 1/2 price, which should I go for and why?

With none - you do realize that they are jacked with stims, which is how they work? You can instead just take some coffee, and get roughly the same effects, since most of them have caffeine as their primary ingredient.

However, if the choice is between the two, preworkouts are better, since these energy drinks are usually full of sugars, which is not good for anyone's diet.

Personally, I would tell you that a good meal an hour before working out is the best preworkout you will ever find.

Just get pure caffeine tabs, which is a very very cheap alternative

you should invest your money in quality food and water. that will make or break your workout

Pre workouts and energy drinks are pretty much the same thing. When it really comes down to it, they are much more then a flavoured caffeine drink. The cheapest option would be to try black coffee. That's what I do. Coffee won't contain any of the artificial sweeteners or flavours that pre-workouts do either. It's your best option all around.

Black coffee also contains a host of anti-oxidants and health benefits. Just limit your consumption to 1-2 cups per day.
