First cycle prep

Hey everyone,

I am looking at doing my first cycle and seeking any advise.

Here is some pre-context and stats.

I am a former athlete that used to participate football, wrestling, track, and have been lifting weights since I was 15. Naturally, I am a big guy. In college my natural weight was 215lbs to 225lbs, low double digit body fat but could never break into single digits no matter how much I fasted or cut calories. Now I am in my early 30's, 6'3" and 280lbs. For the last three years I have gained notable fat and am having difficulty losing it. Feel like shit the majority of the time, depressed, and high anxiety.
I have worked with two separate nutritionist within these last three years in an attempt to learn more about nutrition and lose weight. While I have gained knowledge on nutrition and dieting, I have been unsuccessful losing the body fat. I hit the gym early mornings for about an hour and then work from home. While working from home, I walk on the treadmill under my desk for a few hours and will pop into my garage gym for additional weight training and cardio. In the evenings I crossfit, hike, swim, run, etc. My end goal is to get back between 225lbs to 240lbs.

My current maintenance macros are 220g protein, 152g carbs, and 90g fat, or 2,300 calories.

Recently received my blood labs back and my testosterone was at 250 ng/DL.

For my first cycle I only want to run testosterone enanthate only.
Here is the 12-week cycle schedule I have drafted up.

Week 1 - 12:
2x 100mg Test E injection per week. Injections Monday morning and Thursday evenings.
0.5mg Arimidex every other day.

PCT to occur two weeks after last injection.

Week 14 - 18:
50mg Clomid per day
20mg Nolvadex per day


And of course all the necessary vitamins throughout the cycle and post-cycle.

Starting off at 200mg/week of test e seems like a good strategy and the go-to method for beginners. The injections being every 3 to 4 days is to maintain more consistent test levels throughout the cycle, but I am willing to adjust the test dosages over time once I learn how I react to the testosterone.

When studying Arimidex, some say to take it throughout the cycle every other day. Others mention to only start taking it once they experience nipple sensitivity or soreness. What is your take on Arimidex?

Honestly your going into this with a high bodyfat which is not ideal. You should commit to 6 months of on point eating and training to bring fat levels down a bit. If you can't do it without drugs you won't be able to do it with drugs in 12 weeks. If you planned to be on TRT and spend time getting dialed in you would have a better shot at reaching your goals with a long term approach. Your test was at 250ng/dl, what is the range?
Cab you post a pic so we can see what you are working with?
Not trying to discourage you nut starting a cycle now might actually be a disadvantage for you.
 
Your body fat is a problem running a cycle,you have low test,imo you should run trt for few months,140mg per week,get bloods to see if you need to adjust,use arimadex only upon sensitivity.monitor closely.get your diet and the rest dialled in on trt dose,only run a cycle in future at lower body fat which should occur running trt imo.gets rid of (helps manage /reduce occurance of)the depression,boosts metabolism etc.and you are right,1st cycle only test from 300mg up to 500mg a week,but that's later bro.all he best.

I am not sure what you mean by testosterone range? I know from research healthy testosterone for a male around age 30 should be 650ng/dl to 750ng/dl. The lab results I have only show 250ng/dl. Would you please provide more information on what I should be looking for?

While I do agree with you on losing body fat before beginning a cycle, I have been struggling to lose body fat for the last three years with consistent daily exercise and tracking macros. I am of course willing to dedicate myself again in attempt to lower body fat before a cycle.

Will running TRT with high body fat cause symptoms such as moon-face?
Initially I wanted to start off just on Test E at a low dose of 200mg/week to help with losing weight and bulking up a little.
At this point in time, I wouldn't want to run anything else other than Test.
 
you get "moon face" from not controlling your estrogen levels...

your body fat being where it is would be a HUGE issue using steroids, causing FAR more estrogen conversion amongst the slew of other possible problems and elevated body fat causes with steroid use... you have this backwards.. you have to be in the proper condition first before going near a steroid, which ideally would be in the 12-13% range, 15 at the minimum.. event that is not ideal... if you are struggling to lose weight and have low T symptoms, which struggling to lose weight is one, you need to speak to a professional endocrinologist, not just a normal doctor... if you need trt, which you likely do being that low on your overall test, that will help you to lose weight you are struggling with but running a cycle would not be the answer.. there is a significant difference between the two.. you need to speak to a professional though so that they can give you a full assessment.. i assure you, running a cycle is the worst thing you could do right now...
 
Dylan covered it all! You need to seek out the professional help to get on TRT properly and having it monitored by a professional
 
It’s kind of nuts to put a 15% ceiling on usage. Frankly it’s just a way to tell people that you can do something and they can’t. It is definitely true that you will have more issues with testosterone when you are over fat, but let’s face it, you have more issues with everything in life when you are over fat. I do think TRT is a good place to start, because it is easier to lose fat with normal testosterone levels than with low T, and extra body fat tends to drive test down anyway. So the advice I am seeing is good, but the way in which it is presented is silly and exclusionary.
 
here is the problem with waiting to use an AI until you have a problem

estrogen being high is dangerous in many ways. just because you don't feel symptoms doesn't mean problems aren't happening, also by the time you notice the symptoms that means estrogen has gotten out of control

200mgs testosterone is basically self-TRT and it's a good start for you.

What you need to do to get real answers is start a LOG journal with your diet training cardio sleep and supplements so we can properly guide you to actual results as a community.

If you don't log what you eat or train now, open NOTES on phone and start recording it there and paste here. Very easy.
