thanks bro I appreciate it, the training is the easy and of course my favorite part, its all the other stuff that can be tough sometimes specially when the rest of my family is not as concerned about there eating habits. They are slowly coming around. My youngest son says he is tired of eating chicken thighs. lol.

Another safety squat bar fan!!
Only way I can squat right now with the anchors in my shoulder. I would still use the SS Yoke in the rotation even if I could squat regularly. I didn't even know they existed until one day watching Elite FTS. Then I started looking around at other gyms in the area to see if anyone had one. I found a bodybuilder, powerlifting, strongman gym only 10 minute drive from the house. I went and checked it out. Signed up that day and still had to pay for the other gym for 6 months but it was worth it. Found out trainers from the other gym that worked there actually workout at the gym I joined. lol. The members there are way nicer, willing to talk to you about training anytime, and will help out in any way possible.

bros i like that you are focused on yourself, not competing. in the end what we feel is #1 about ourselves.

bro was the catfish freshwater or saltwater?

there are both. Usually saltwater catfish, are not edible. That's why I asked.
I catch catfish in my Ranch pond.

you build up scar tissue in your shoulders. its hard to break it without mobility work.

This is true at all powerlifting gyms. They will do what ever they can to teach and help you succeed.

I have fallen in love with training and the lifestyle. I am not perfect at it but I get up and try my best daily. I also know that having more muscle on and being in better health will help with longevity. I want to be around as long as I can for my family and be able to function into old age. This all kicked off because the doctor put me on tirzepatide for diabetes and told me I needed to go to the gym and lift some weights to not lose muscle while on the medication. I don't think he thought it was going to morph into all this. Now I am in the normal range for not having any diabetes or prediabetes which is great.

Yeah I pretty much work on my shoulder mobility daily. I am actually impressed how much it has improved because i didn't think it would get this much better. Now i am hopeful that in the future I will be able to grab the regular bar and squat even high bar.

you don't need EAA's man. that is sort of nonsense.
cool, thank you,

I am going to cut them out and not order any more of that stuff to save money. Not that they are that expensive but can spend the extra money else where.

if you are training purely for strength then don't fast ahead of your workout that day.

but if you aren't training for strength or you are just doing cardio then train fasted IMO.

Thats cool you have a pond on the ranch you can fish and get food from. They were freshwater catfish we bought them from the local neighborhood seafood store. Yeah we don't eat river cats or ocean ones around here. Our river here comes right into the ocean at the Jetties and stays brackish for a good bit specially everywhere I go fishing when I do. Actually we like mahi mahi, trigger, all my kids eat there first sharks as well its just been a tradition unless its a big one they catch we just let them go. There so full of bad metals its a one time thing but we will make them into shark bites. We like to go red fishing but we let them go as well and don't eat them. We have access to a lot of fresh seafood here in Jacksonville, FL. A lot of Mayport shrimp is eaten here.

don't eat anything heavy ahead of your workouts.
Something like maybe a couple eggs lightly cooked with a piece of fruit would be a really good one a couple hours prior.

I am training for strength. I want to move heavy weight. I just recently started doing cardio after my workouts. I usually eat good the night before and it holds me well through my early morning workouts. I just noticed this past week I have been feeling hungry after I get started with my heavy lift for the day. Only thing really that has changed recently is that I am in my 4th week of taking Var and also this week i have started getting some minor VAR pumps like in my right calf and lower back on the treadmill. I didn't know if my body has just gotten saturated with the VAR now, kicking in good and causing the extra hunger.

You got to experiment with different things to see what works for you.

I trained with people who eat hot dogs and pizza before their workouts and are fine. But for the most part, that's not smart.

I get up at 4-6 am depending on when I get to sleep. I am rigid about getting my 8 hours of sleep daily. Then I make my supplements, then head to the gym to get it done. If I don't get my training done first thing it may not happen with family obligations at the end of the day. I don't have a couple of hours before training. As fast as I can get dressed and mix my drinks I am out the door. After training I come home and eat a big protein meal then head off to the jobsite for work.
