I’ve found that narrowing up bench grip does help with shoulder issues. Mr RR has had shoulder surgeries might be similar issues as u but I do better as well but my triceps are really strong and it shifts the stress to the triceps more. Angle on wider is infact, harder on my shoulders for sure. Hammer strength machines are nice too cuz you can adjust angles grip ect.. to what your body likes. I don’t use smith really for anything. It just locks me into a position which doesn’t allow for the adjustments. But that’s me. Incline practice might help with your range of motion on shoulder presses too it works shoulders also. It’s the pain I would worry about more. If it hurts I just don’t do it don’t force it, find a diff movement. Thats me. Keep working on it!
