Hello all! I’m 45 6’2 currently 207lbs. When I was in my early 20’s I worked out pretty seriously then quit. Never dabbed in anabolics but used every supplement available. I was as strong as many guys doing roids that weighed 40lbs more than me. At the time I was 180lbs. At 40 I had depression and was tested for low T. I was diagnosed and treated. My doc knew very little about it. So much so that he prescribed me 10ml a month even tho I was only supposed to take 1ml a week the pharmacist never caught it and I continued to get that for about a year. Like a dumbass I started taking 2ml a week hoping I would get the motivation to get back in the gym. Never happened! I went up to 237 and was fat and miserable. This also shut my natural T down and I have never recovered. I had levels as low as 50 while trying to get my boys to start working again. It never happened now I’m on trt for the rest of my life. So now I have found the motivation to get back in the gym. I think I have a reliable source which I need because I’ve never found found a doc that knows what he’s doing. I’m planning on test e at 60 and deca at 40 a week. Along with proviron 25mg a day. I know that doesn’t sound like much but my body responds really well and I will increase as my body demands. I just want to be healthy without harming my heart(I already have high triglycerides, taking Rx fish oil for that). What do you think of my plan? In the gym should I go heavy (low reps). Or light(high reps).I would appreciate anyone that has more experience to chime in. Thanks

Regardless of whether your original doctor had prescribed you the correct TRT dosing or overdosed you as he did, you would be permanently shut down from the length of time on regardless. That's why the mantra, TRT is for life, is repeated ad nauseam. As far as doing in a correct TRT dose, I strongly encourage you to seek out an endocrinologist to help you. As you said, you are a good responder, and maybe 60mg will do it, but from what I have seen, 75mg seems to be the low end dosing for good responders. I don't particularly recommend perpetual use of deca, although some doctors will prescribe a very small amount as a part of TRT. Proviron will likely be a nice add all around, freeing more blund test, helping with libido, and to a minor extent, helping with estrogen control. Again, I do implore you to seek out an endocrinologist rather than attempting to right things on your own.

at the end of the day it is your decision

i would implore you though to improve your heart health before touching steroids. not just that but why have a poor heart in the first place? no reason for that. you can make lifestyle changes to help

i completely agree... that should absolutely be addressed first and be the primary concern here

Thanks for your honesty. I have quit smoking, and lost a few pounds since my last lab and my cholesterol is fair. I have added proviron for the last couple months and it has made a world of difference. Ive suspected that my free test was low. Do endocrinologist now days just refuse to treat you if you’re honest with them or are they understanding? I work a fairly physically demanding job 6 days a week and just can’t take off to see a doctor so they can criticize me. Thanks

An endocrinologist (as opposed to a primary care physician) should be knowledgeable and understanding about these types of issues, as this is what they specialize in.

you will be able to to get TRT if you keep looking. doctors in the USA are more than willing to over prescribe anything they can.

remember for years they were handing out extremely dangerous and addicting painkillers.. it took state and federal governments cracking down to scare them into cutting back, only because many lawmakers have family members dying and getting addicted to this shit and it was destroying small communities, but if you go to the right doctor you can easily still get them anyway and these same pharma companies who make this shit are still raking in billions.

all the more reason to work on yourself first before resorting to any sort of medication or hormone

my rule for touching steroids or going on TRT are normal blood pressure, heart rate under 75, normal cholesterol. and you accomplish those without the use of drugs.. also a rule of thumb can simply be can you run a mile in under 8 minutes? if you can't then you simply aren't in shape because that should be easy as fuck. I'm almost 40 and still run a sub 6:30 mile in my sleep, even with a mountain of injuries. so no excuse for anyone not being able to do it in 8 minutes

You have to understand that my heart rate has never been under 75. My fathers heart rate has always been high also. i have always been a nervous person. I can’t go through the depression and agony of trying to get off trt. I would lose my job. I appreciate your concern and I’m going to do my best to get in shape.

go back in time to your ancestors and they didn't have heart problems. heart issues started coming about in the 50's in the USA.

i also have had anxiety issues myself, always was a stressed out kid too. get into yoga and meditation, find relaxing hobbies like fishing and such. you will feel better

i will tell you how you can kill 5 birds with 1 stone and that is bikram hot yoga. do that for 3 months and i guarantee your heart rate will be sub 60 and your anxiety will be gone.
