How long to normalise after increasing dose of testosterone?

I am on trt and get prescribed around 70mg a week of testosterone. I get blood work every 6 months. I want to run a higher dose and then return to normal levels in time for the blood work. I wanted to increase the dose to about 350mg a week. How long after dropping back to 70mg would it take for my test levels to decrease to normal levels? If it depends on how long I run 350mg for I was thinking around the 8-12 weeks range.

I don't want to lose the prescription of test because the carrier oil is olive oil and it is the only carrier I don't seem to have any issues with. If I use any seed oil (cotton, etc) or mct oil I end up with redness, that develops into a lump for around 5 days. I never get this with olive oil and I can't seem to get olive oil from any ugc source. I will be supplementing with a mct oil based test but don't want to run this long term for my trt hence why I want to keep the prescription. I usually inject in the abdomen but can't with mct oil so do it in the delt and still get the redness down my bicep.

If anyone knows a supplier with olive oil based test it would be appreciated.

6 half lives is a safe bet to clear the excess test.

multiply the ester half life by 4-5 and that will give you the answer.

It's test cypionate so 8x6 = 40 days to be on the safe side.
@tubbylad if you are alright with MCT oil test bro why bother with this olive oil testosterone TRT? want to understand you
and besides having a piece of paper, how much blast you plant to do? like your base TRT vs your blast TRT, share more please we are interested bro

Longer. Neither 8 nor 6 is the generally accepted half life of Test C. I've seen 19 days.

I would give it at least a month

that would be your best option.

you can always get blood work on your own to confirm what's going on. that would at least give you peace of mind.

with test cyp give it about 6 weeks to be safe.

4-5 weeks is iffy.

maybe not the best idea to try to fool your doctor. a lot of times that can backfire.

you're going to want to be closer to around 100 mg.
that's a better trt dose in my opinion.

what kind of doctor are you going to?

what country are you in?

25 weeks Is a lot to play with, why not do a 12 week cycle and then back to the 70mg for the next 12 weeks before the blood test.
Also if your getting red and lumpy at 70mg how are you going to handle 5x that amount going into your body a week?

The other rather obvious option is to self TRT.

I mean you're already planning on upping the dose etc so why not go the self TRT root? Just keep including regular blood tests for health markers. It'll save you a lot of money and shouldn't be an issue

But @Freki makes a good point regarding issues you're already having just as is.

Thanks for all the replies.

I've done 375mg a week for 12 weeks of mct oil and olive oil before. I injected 0.5ml in my delt 3 times a week and I get the redness when I take the mct oil but not when I use the olive oil.

I would do 1 delt on a Tuesday with mct, my abdomen on a Thursday with olive oil and my other delt on a Sunday. By the time I got back to the first delt it was cleared up. Even if I only did 0.2ml of mct oil I still get the redness and lumps.

This is the reason I don't want to give up the trt because I don't think I can get any olive oil based test cyp from a ugc source? Long term I don't think I could keep using mct/cotton seed oil every week.

Cost wise I am not concerned about the cost of sticking with the trt and supplementing from ugc, but the bloodwork has to be arranged through the trt source. What I would likely do is get a test done myself around 3-4 weeks before having to take the trt test so I can see how close my markers are.

Just a follow up to this.

My normal TRT dose is around 70mg of test cyp a week.

The end of the first week in September 2024 I started at 200mg a week. I was up to 250mg a week the following month (October), then 375mg the month after (November), December I was down to 250mg, January I was at 225mg. The start of February I dropped back to 75mg a week and ran this for 3.5 weeks until I had a blood test on the 25th of February.

I just got the results back and Testosterone is 31nmol/l, free test 0.51nmol/l and shbg SHBG is 57nmol/l

For reference my last blood test was July 2024 and my Testosterone was 25nmol/l, free test 0.60nmol/l and shbg was 20nmol/l

The difference in SHBG could be to do with the fact I normally inject 3x per week but for the last 3.5 weeks I have just been doing it 1x.

Also, blood work wasn't through the TRT doctor so I was just making sure I was within range.
