EVO V.I.P.
I'm currently on a cut and I went out to eat with a group of friends tonight at a well known casual restaurant. Everyone's ordering bacon cheeseburgers with fries, fried chicken and waffles, etc. More saturated fat and refined carbs on one plate than I eat in an entire week.

As usual when I eat out, which is rarely, I scan the menu for some protein and something minimally processed. I order a grilled chicken salad that was just under 600 calories and suddenly I'm the butt of the joke of the table. I'm no fun, I'm obsessed with my body, I need to relax and not be so uptight.

I would never say it because I'm not that kind of guy but at least half the table is overweight. FFS, when did it become normal to be unhealthy and you're an outcast if you try to take care of your body.

I don't fat shame people, I don't try to push my lifestyle on people but I get body shamed because I want to look good and be healthy. WTF is up with this backwards world?

Sorry, rant over

Eh, I get that sometimes in the summer too when I am cutting

Honestly, I don’t give a f*ck

No one anywhere close to my physique would say something, and on my cheat days I make their portions look like teaspoons

I grew up around a bunch of felons who would mess with me all the time. So, I have pretty thick skin. Security and self esteem bring confidence

But another thing you could do is order a burger with fries and only eat a little bit

Yeah I got that,at end of year we went to pub after work for Xmas lunch,my wholesome chicken Ceasar salad looked way better than the greasy burgers n fries, they can joke,I'm gonna outlive them all lol

Everyone has their own views and ways of living their lives.. just like we have our community here and throughout the world in terms of people that really take care of themselves or care about their bodies, there are many that dont... just like they make their little wise cracks at you, we do the same on them... so to each their own HOWEVER, the one thing that is bothersome is the complete lack of care for ones health and not taking it seriously... it is what it is, and people make their own choices, just like those that smoke, drink etc... I have such thick skin at this point i dont give one ounce of a fuck what anyone says... i always ask myself, will i think about this when i wake up tomorrow or will it impact my life in any way, shape or form and 99.9% of the time, the answer is fck no So while i truly get your point, just remember that you are the one taking care of yourself and they are not.. aside from that, it has no impact on you whatsoever brother... you either choose to flat ass ignore them or clown them, which is clearly far easier to do... either way, no impact on you whatsoever

I FEEL YOUR FRUSTRATION and WELCOME TO MY WORLD lol

it is hard to fight a trillion dollar food industry my man. there are a lot of people on this forum/community that make a living in that industry. there are a lot of people overall who work in that industry. waitressing is an important profession, its one of the few jobs out there that a single mother can make enough money to raise her child on. work at the right place and you pull in more money than a medical professional. so it would be crazy to tell people stop eating out at restaurants, a lot of people work in hospitality in general and its a great place for anyone with or without an education to make a living.

it all boils down to economics here. if you turn on the NFL games today you will see every single commercial break there is gonna be atleast 1 food commercial. its a big business and they know what they are doing marketing to everyone, from children to seniors. you never see a commercial for healthy food, its all junk food. fast food companies employee many millions and their franchise owners are wealthy so they give two fucks that they are advertising during cartoons on saturday morning. back in the 80's the government shrank the amount of commercials allowed during cartoons, but they said nothing about the content. the food companies have done a great job convincing people that its 'tough' and 'manly' to eat bacon, fried foods, and donuts as your meal. fruits and veggies? thats for wimps! i even had a friend tell me he won't even go to the produce section of the supermarket cause he is scared someone will see him there and make fun of him cause its a place only for old ladies lol. marketing works great!

my generation grew up with beer commercials with blondes in bikini's running around having fun, cereal commercials, happy meals (come get your toy!).. the current younger generations many have cut the cord on the tv and gone streaming, but the food industry is clever. so now they even advertise on your streaming apps. not just ads but also banners. so its up to parents to SHOW their kids proper nutrition through action, not words.

as far as your situation here, mobster and I did a podcast where we touched on this. It was in our blue zone podcast. it is important to surround yourself with people with your own lifestyle, this will help you not get frustrated and you will get support from each other, this leads to better and happier life. the people i hang out with from my yoga community for example if we went out it would be the opposite, there would be 1 person there ordering junk who is getting bashed lol. in fact, we had a charity thing where we got together. the food we ate was watermelon and we drank water and kombucha afterwards. however i could not spend more than 10 minutes with them cause they are snobby rich fucks who all live in mansions. so unfortunately poor steve doesn't really have anyone to eat out with, so i simply do not eat out. i have not eaten out anywhere anyway in years cause I am OCD about who is handling my food and since covid. people are dirty and i would rather just cook and eat on my own lol.

but a simple solution here is avoid eating out with this sort of group and if its something you like to do then find the right crowd to do it with. if you like doing other stuff with them you can maybe catch them after they are done eating or before. one of the things i do with my own family even is avoid eating with them while they are eating, i will go do something else run an errand then come back. its a similar tactic as finding a way to avoid having to go to a wedding lol

I never let what anyone says get to me and I make it a point to stay out of other peoples' business and often just keep to myself. Everyone has to have their opinion and be heard, oh boy, but that seems to be for the people who do not have anything going on in their own pathetic lives and have to get something to do or talk about so they bring others into their conversations. Let them stay fat and unhealthy while you are happy with what you see and how you feel.

Everyone has their own views but these days eating too much seems normal. I have the same problem as you. Every time I go out to eat, everyone is stuffing their face and I am getting a chicken breast lol

food abuse is bad these days

focusing on your health and eating real food diet all the time will get you many challenges as you mentioned above.....would suggest you to keep yourself focused and don't pay attention to the people passing comments on your diet......
