Veteran Thread Info Series by AE: Trenbolone

Veteran Discussion
I'm gonna set me some time to read this one properly.

Thank you, as per my suggestion of last week, for taking the time to do this.

Excellent write up this is what we need more of, little experience or years if experience we should never stop learning and always respect and appreciate what we are doing inside and out with our bodies.

I said a few times and I will say it again, AE is a huge asset for the evo community and does things the proper way.

I remember the old Westside barbell guys saying they used to get those tren cattle pellets and melted them down to use them for injection back in the day, wild stuff.
And you can STILL get them on Amazon last I looked.

Would love to see some more delving into some of the harsher anabolics @AE1079
Educating members on dangers etc of things like halo, ment tren dhb etc is probably good.
Espically with all those compounds becoming more common 🥰

No problem happy to do it and will be doing more 💪

Halo will be a good one as their is a lot of interesting studies and reads on halo

This article is amazing! - I'm new to these forums but I have to say I'm very impressed by what I have just read - this article is going to help many who read it.

Good solid information like this is going to help this community with harm reduction in a major way!

Knowledge like this is rare - @AE1079 knows his stuff

Thanks brother, welcome to evo!

Hello Evo Family,

I’ll be doing these info posts once a week to hopefully bring some more science and anecdotal education around certain topics to help you guys make more informed choices. Whether it’s PEDs, Nutrition, Mental Health, Training. It’s all relative to creating a top tier physique.

First topic I want to write about is something that certainly needs more education and know how and that is TRENBOLONE.

Yes the old Trenbologne sandwich, used by many bodybuilders and recreational trainers alike for its results in produces. It is thee most notorious steroid in our time for both its physical and mental effects. I’ll cover some relevant information from a scientific and pharmacology background to anecdotal and my experience with the drug. I’ll try and make this as relevant as possible without putting in too much fluff.

I want illiterate to you guys that I am not promoting the use of this drug. I am simply giving you the info to make an informed choice. There will be effects that may resonate with you “I want that effect!”, I would suggest reading this carefully as this drug is a double edge sword.

Tren; love the way it makes me look, hate the way it makes me feel. Let’s keep that in mind.

HISTORY
Trenbolone was initially created by AJ Birch, through the “Birch Reduction” which was a process of removing a methyl group from testosterone which subsequently produced the 19-nor family of which 27 of the 19-Nors were found. These did not make it into market, however Tren made into the scene after being scientifically tested as a steroidal SARM. It became human grade and animal grade in the 60s-70s and was developed as PARABOLAN all the way up to 1996, or Trenbolone Hexahydrocarbonate. It is currently used in cattle still to this as a preparation with estrogen to promote growth in cattle in the form of pellets. They come in different strengths and release formulas depending on the wanted outcome (please note that high E2 in cows works significantly differently then in humans so don’t try and jack your E2 up, we aren’t Cows!) however parabolan was introduced as a hormone replacement therapy. It showed promise in men which is debated still, as we know originally the dosing was 76.5mg per vial injected 3 times per week as a front load to reach peak concentrations, resulting in 150mg TOTAL Trenbolone injected on a weekly basis once the ester was cleaved off. The Hex ester was introduced do reduce the side effects of the drug due to its slow release time, as we know now, rapid increase in androgen signalling especially something as strong as tren can create side effects which the body try’s and normalises over its weeks of use, but with Hex it was a lot easier as the release time was slowed. Think of this like adding fats to carbs, slowing the release time to allow a better blood sugar. Higher peaks in blood sugar causes more unwanted side effects in the body ( I can do a write up on blood sugar too).

Nowadays we have 3 esters, acetate, enanthate and hex. All have will create different responses in the body, creating different reactions. Which I’ll somewhat explain below.

Tren and the Human body
Tren has a prostaglandin response in the body, you know that cough we get after an injection of tren? That’s because we have punctured a vein, mixed with an acetate ester, the body will release these prostaglandins in an attempt to restrict your airways to control the drug from entering into the lungs. However the most interesting thing about these prostaglandins is that it causes stem cells to proliferate which is why tren stands out amongst other steroids.
When we look at side effects of the drug we can point it to a couple of things.
increased androgen activity at the AR, due to its tight binding affinity and nature it will intially cause side effects such as aggression, increased thermic effect and some what a more primal reaction. Crushing E2, yes. E2 within normal range in men has protection against some of Trenbolones nasty side effects on the brain, heart and kidneys and to some extent the liver, as the compound naturally oxidizes causing REACTIVE OXYGEN SPECIES to develop. Ever wondered why you look older on tren? There’s your reason. Increase in ROS which is pro- aging.

DOSING & ESTERS
We also dose this drug significantly higher then what it’s intended use was. 50-100mg ED is not a uncommon practise, I am seeing however people microdosing the drug to lower its side effects and to take advantage of its anti catabolic effects, such as 5-25mg ED of acetate and 20-40mg of Enanthate and which to some degree in humans was part of its intended use. Using tren in my opinion over 200mg is just going to create my side effects, more is never better, we only need 100mg to get its anti catabolic effects and glucocorticoid inhibition. For larger males, I do see 150- 250mg ran per week in a contest prep setting which is PLENTY. Running this compound over 300mg will get nasty and will cause more harm than good, the juice ain’t worth the squeeze. These pharma companies do things with intention, and knew that a higher dose would create problematic effects which would render the drug somewhat useless and not effective in its intent. As explained above, slowing the release time was part of reducing the side effects, which is why Hex was developed at the time, slowly metabolising to reduce symptoms and allowing the drug to work as intended, of course it always doesn’t work that way and is never perfect, but was a way to combat side effects somewhat. It’s important to note that higher peaks of the drug will cause more side effects, acetate being notoriously known for side effect.

Tren and Prolactin
Tren being a 19-nor and progestergenic in nature due to its metabolites, we see in studies that cows metabolise the drug differently to the point of no progestergenic side effects, it is noted that rats also breakdown the drug differently from cows, where it gets complicated with humans is that we are similar to cows in terms of metabolism of the drug, but certain polymorphic features and again depending on a persons genetics, will react similar to rats. Hence why experience somewhat different side effects.

Some folks react well to tren and some don’t. Progesterone side effects are normally feared by users and we try and self medicate these with either blood work results showing high progesterone or someone tells us to have “caber on hand” due to high prolactin that tren MAY cause in users. It’s worth nothing that tren will show up as a progesterone in some cases and estrogen as well in bloodwork, so this can potentially skew parameters, unfortunately these blood work companies don’t have markers to show different androgens that differentiate from the two, which can make bloodwork interpretation some what difficult to determine. I can assure that it is getting cross detected by either progesterone or estrogen depending on testing assays.

Anecdotally, we have seen on blood work that progesterone increase will jump due to cross detection, however we see comparatively small increases in prolactin, but I can guarantee that most users will jump to using caber as it’s mythical use of combating increased prolactin sides. Caber is bloody horrible drug with detrimental cardio effects, and dopamine withdrawal syndrome being an issue once getting off caber. Prolactin can really only increase when estrogen is followed up, with the increase in prolactin however, it will aid in AR binding.. yes it aids in the drug binding to the AR receptor more efficiently, in turn causing the drug to work better. If we choose to lower prolactin through Caber, we will take away its affinity to bind to the AR, causing a less effective drug. We have AR receptors in both fat and muscle, if we reduce binding through using care, we reduce fat loss and muscle retention.. food for thought.

The Tren effect
Another effect of tren is its T3 downregulation, What does this mean? Lowered T3 will cause a better nutrient partitioning effect, slowing turn over of all macronutrients creating a much more anabolic environment on a linear scale, causing muscle retention and its anti catabolic properties to really shine. You may ask, why do I get so hot and why do I shred so quickly?

This is where tren gets interesting, the large prostaglandin response causes a mild grade fever in some individuals causing body temp to increase, higher body temp at rest = burning more fat.. almost acting like a thermo uncoupler, nothing like DNP of course but to some degree, let’s say like a thermogenic. This is why we see body composition changes with tren and why it works so well within contest prep. T3 goes down = better muscle retention/utilisation of nutrients + prostaglandin response = better body composition. Not to mention the glucocorticoid activity tren induces, removing minerals from the skin, thinning the skin. When you combine all of these effects, It explains why this drug is so effective. The funny thing is, the drug was never designed to actually have these effects in the body. It’s almost the perfect anabolic. However it was designed in cattle to increase feed efficiency as cows do have fast metabolisms, it’s why see a lot skinnier blokes gain muscle mass as it’s slowing the metabolism down whilst keeping body fat low through prostaglandin response. Tren won’t rid your metabolism, it will just lower t3 uptake instead and how your thyroid works.

We can point the finger at high prostaglandin release for its side effects of night sweats, especially with acetate due to its high peak. Tren ace is more notorious for its side effects because of this, where we so Hex and E being less so because of its ester weight and slower release of the drug causing a lower prostaglandin response, hence why anecdotes tell us tren e and hex have less sides.

Tren and the Brain
The moods we get on tren is pointed at the fact that it will cross the blood brain barrier.. attaching itself to AR receptors in the brain, causing serotonin to decrease, dopamine to scale up and down intermittently, and hedonic drive to become more present in these times. You will more likely to participate in risky activity, whether it’s more fornicating, buying more stuff, telling your wife to F*** off.. the androgenic nature of this drug is so strong, then when crossed in the brain, it will literally change the way you think. Less serotonin = more ambition to have sex. More dopamine = looking for even more dopamine. Which creates a cycle of chaos. It’s no wonder it’s called divorce in a bottle. It literally changes programming to primal mode. Which in this day and age is not exactly optimal.

Can we by-pass this? No… a combination of lowered E2 in contest prep also causes even more damage to the brain, as we don’t have the benefits of e2 and its way of protecting the brain from harm. Not to mention the fact that it also oxidises. Oxidisation causes rapid dedregation of cells, causing ROS to attack the cell and causing apoptosis or cell death.. hence why we say rapid aging and organ damage. This can be mitigated of course through correct supplementation and guidance of a coach knowing how to manage pharmacology and knowing what knobs to push, pull and turn.

Conclusion and closing thoughts.
Overall, looking at the above, tren is a drug not to mess with, it needs to be respected and restrain needs to be made when dosing. More is not better. Less is more effective and none at all is ideal. This is a contest prep drug. This is not a drug to run in a cutting phase if you aren’t stepping on stage. There are better ways to get the look you want. This is not a muscle gaining drug, it’s an anti catabolic drug. It used whilst in a deep deficit, not in a cycle because your pal told you it works.. yes it works but for the right reasons. If you are using tren for its anti catabolic effects during cutting outside of a contest prep, you are doing it wrong. Save your health, your brain and relationships.

I have personally used 140mg in this past prep, 20mg ED and that was more then enough to hold on to tissue and give me the look I needed. I couldn’t wait to get off it, I couldn’t sleep, I didn’t want to interact with anyone. It made me a horrible person. I have used 500mg as well.. I just got more sides and nothing I wouldn’t have got out of it on 140mg.. seriously. I have used caber, and got dopamine withdrawal syndrome. I am now on antidepressants because of it. My other mates who had competed as well ran as low as 100mg and got dry and shredded.

Key message here is in contest prep, use less. In daily life outside of it. Don’t use it at all.

AE.
Great article. Thanks for taking the time to write it.
The unfortunate part is that we will still get multiple people a week who think they need to be using tren and won't even take the time to research or read your article to gain knowledge. They just want to hear how much and how long. It's sad but this is the world we live in now. A world of instant gratification regardless of the risk.

Evolutionary radio has the American @stevesmi
It has the English man @Mobster
3rd vacant spot for the aussie? @AE1079
Get him on your pod cast brothers!!!!!!
HUGE time issue lol. We record the shows right after Stevesmi gets up. It's lunchtime for me and it'd be... midnight for an Aussie. When we did the shows with Vision and Noah (still a 2 hour time difference between him and Stevesmi and they both live in the US) it was 4 pm for me.

Heck, I've mentioned when I occasionally reply in the OZ forum that it's breakfast time for me and bed time for you lot. I'm barely awake and you should all be asleep ha ha

I just listened your video and what you went through affirms a lot of the anecdote and science behind the compound.. it’s just not worth it.

More damage can be done for the short term look.. the message you put across in this video should be highly considered by everyone
I appreciate it.. I argue that the best way to use tren is not to use it at all.. There is NO denying its capability but is the risk REALLY worth the reward? I cannot quantitatively ascertain that in any way, shape or form is it worth it.. You get X amount of time to get XYZ results that you certainly will not keep and for what? To cause not only long and short term PHYSICAL problems but MENTAL problems as well... There is a slew of reasons to not use it but far far far too many have no understanding nor care of long term thinking/health/longevity...

time is no issue, I have time for these things, let me know if you will consider!

we don't do guests on the show very often due to the scheduling difficulties with different time zones and such. having said that i will talk to the producers and def have you on down the line if we do get some guest episodes lined up. this will be a great topic

Agree with you brother, and welcome to EVO

@AE1079 while I think trenbolone is dangerous, low doses do have their places. So I do like the write up.

You have my vote for the podcast.

Low doses do have their places in contest prep setting for sure, it just needs to be monitored and well being checks done by the coach I feel will
Make the process a lot more doable ! Thank you man 🙏
