Intermittent fasting while on cycle

Ive noticed a few members are intermittent fasting (eating all food intake within a 6-8 hour window).. I'm hell interested in this. i posted something similar in the nutrition forum but thought it should go here

I've read heaps of conflicting opinions on IF whilst on gear, a lot of people say its a waste of time, you will lose muscle doing it and should be trying to feeding yourself protein every 2-3 hours whilst on gear.. just wondering what peoples experience is with IF on gear?

has anyone used IF to bulk? do you find it hard to hit all the calories in such a small window?

I've seen IF give some fuckin incredible results for cutting stubborn body fat. i definitely plan to give it a shot and see how my body reacts to it but wanna learn as much as possible

I can't speak for IF while cycling but it is effective for me on TRT.

It works wonders for fat loss. If you are trying to add muscle I think the biggest concern is getting enough food in that window but it can definitely be done.

I'm not a breakfast person and I don't like that after lunch crash at work so it really fits my lifestyle well. I just feel better overall when I'm not constantly eating. One of the biggest challenges for me when I first started was not to eat everything in sight at the beginning of my feeding window.

Steve is the resident expert on fasting so I'm sure he'll chime in.

I prefer to call it sane eating

that is bullshit, when you are fasting your body is spitting out growth hormone so that will prevent any muscle loss, and eating protein every 2 hours is just bro science put out by the supplement companies to sell you protein powder

if you want to get fat then IF isn't a good choice. what does bulking mean anyway these days? i see a lot of perma bulkers at the gym. if you want to get big and fat then eat tons of food from 5am till 11pm every 2 hours, you will gain plenty of size but it won't be good size

see bold, and if you want to learn more you can pick up my Ebook in my signature, i put in a lot of info in there that you won't find anywhere else. it is a guide that shows you everything

also this myth that IF is all about calories this or that is not why IF works. fasting works well because when you fast your bodies insulin levels drop down vs. staying elevated. also when you fast your metabolic rate stays high vs. a crash diet where your metabolic rate drops. THAT is why fasting works, it has nothing to do with calories this or that.

I've used intermittent fasting both on and off cycle and it has been very effective for me either way.

I did IF religiously between 2011 to 2014 before it was real popular like today. I wrote many articles on it and studied the shit out of it. I had very good results on it. I've used ws while in a surplus to gain mass and strength. I've also used it for cutting, including contest prep in 2013 very successfully.

IF obviously shines for getting and staying lean. Timing your nutrients that way allows you more diet leniency more than a traditional diet. This is where it shines.

You can absolutely make good gains on it. It will also keep you leaner. The only downside would be that some people cant keep up with the intake required in an 8 hour or less window. When I was doing IF and bulking, my fast breaking meal was easily 2000 to 2500 calories. And then another meal 6 hours later that would still be 1500 to 2000

The cycling part is irrelevant. What works off cycle works even better on cycle. The only exception is tren. I do not recommend doing IF and running tren. Bad things can happen with blood sugar, side effects, etc

Huge fan of IF I get great results from it on cycle and off. Gives me a lot of energy and a clear mind that stays all day long. No crashes or endless yawning. Along as you hit the calories you need on cycle in the window you will be good to go!
